I enjoyed reading this. Reminds me of the time the ugliest girl in school stalked me for Sadie Hawkins Day. But I think when they both grow up, he may regret feeling the way he did.
You are giving tips on how to avoid going to school to young readers everywhere. Do kids these days even know what a cootie is? It may not be part of their vocabulary.

Beautifully worded. But every poem like this reminds me of the autumn I never see here in Southeast Texas where everything goes rather bland into a dull winter occasionally punctuated with freezing excitement, and then spring dragging along until it magically becomes a hot, hot summer.

I look at them every day as I get a little sun on my deck. It is amazing, especially when you see two different cloud groups at different levels moving at different speeds and at different directions.

Brought back childhood memories of catching fireflies and putting them in glass bottles. For some reason, they didn't live very long. Probably because they usually died after their mating song. Hard to hear above their brilliant light show for love.
