Having had a bone graft on my left navicular wrist bone after nursing it in everyway that I could for nine years because the doctors kept saying, "Oh, that hairline fracture will heal itself," I can so identify. Still more than that, I love that the child in the story grew from the experience, survived the emotional scars and the physical pain, and seemed to have what I call that "smiling spirit" anyway. Really good read.

I found out... from a research chemist friend of mine, that I couldn't drink because of my Native American heritage, I didn't posess enough of the proper enzyme in my liver to process the alcohol into sugar and water. Instead it turned into...sugar...water...Folic acid, (fire ant bites) and mostly formaldahyde.....thank God I had a reason to stop...Why would someone as intellegent as I intentionally injest poison?...hence the name "fire water"....bless his heart

Enjoyed, I too am a feline lover, we have an old mama cat on our farm and now many offsprings have begun their own families, but I still find myself being partial to the mama cat...her name well, it suits her after so many litters of kittens...it's Boobs! Yeah, we don't call her name outloud very often, think my daughter inlaw gave her that name, not sure! Wherever it came from, it stuck. She's a great old girl, good mouser, always enjoys a pet on the head, never runs in the house unless invited, and doesn't sleep on the hood of your vehicle. A great little mother as well, who could ask for more! Enjoyed this my friend!

Back when I was a kid, about a week ago, no longer then that, we had a cat named Sunny and one day I said to Sunny, Sunny, don't take this the wrong way but I think that cats in general are sneaky, self-centered and very lazy...Sunny told me then that he'd sent a special message to all the cats in the universe that I was evil...and to this day there has been no mention of a treaty between cats and me.
But yours sounds OK...for a cat, and this was a very good write.

My favorite part of the Jesus Easter history (besides today: Resurrection Day)as shown in the movie I watched the other night (Greatest Story Ever Told)is when Jesus takes his robe sash and forcefully chases the money-changers out of the Temple Mount, meanwhile free some more captives: the doves, lambs they used for sacrifice and I think he said: "My Father desires mercy not sacrifice..." (don't quote me on that)...Your poetry gets you thinking.

My Tom used to like the verse where God said smoke filled the temple. I don't know where it is in the bible. I song that says Fly like an Eagle best. Only I do like this verse, but am a compulsive gambler myself. This verse makes me think of lots of things going on in my life. Won't tell all here though.

I think this poem captures the meaning of "Diversity" and understanding people from different cultures and backgrounds. It is true, that the "tie that binds is stonger than we let on." Each day, we pass others on the street, in the train, or as we go about our business. But do we take time to know them? Do we reach out of our own comfort zone to help those who are from different cultures or backgrounds? Your poem is very insightful.

Stepping into the ocean waves is so comforting and a thrilling thing for me. Just wish I could do it more often. Love those rolling waves washing over my feet and the feelings of peace I get looking far out at sea and wondering if I'll ever cross it again. To go to England, that is?

Know the feeling, I am XL too but don't let it bother me. I am a happy fun loving person and what others think of me doesn't matter. My hubby always said more of you to love. Imagine that. Went to school alumni picnic Sat and did not feel out of place at all. All had put on some weight too. I like my food and when I want to eat, I eat.

My husband did not get all he wanted done either before his death last Aug. He moved on to a pain free world though, but left his spirit behind with me. Grieving but reading and writing on Author's Den is very good therapy. Aches and pains keep me from geeting things done too, but carry on just like you. Always willing to try.

Cat always wins at my home anyway. She lets me know when hungry thirsty, wanted petting, time for bed, her eyes tell all. She is really angry when I go away from home to long and let her alone. About every 4th month in Peru there's a "huelga" (strike) by store-keepers. Prices double--sometimes triple--overnight, and stores are raided--no food's available, and the stupid thing is: it just makes the store owners have to raise the prices again. It's a vicious cycle! And so it goes... Just like Katrina. --Such a waste. I look at the Califonians sharing and banding together, and my faith in humanity restores a bit--people reaching out in love and empathy rather than anger...Still, my heart goes out to the hungry. What would you do if your family was starving? I love my charities! Nice to know you're doing something. --Charlie

Sometimes I believe that within those six months, maybe, something that happened in the outside world, that now he couldn't understand, now being afflicted...was meant to be unfound by him! It could of been a tradgedy, or, a world event, a friends loss, I could go on and on...
I believe our God is a gracious God, and he knows what our best exit is...unfortunately, sometimes, those left behind, don't, at least not at first. . .and then, oneday, it does all makes sense. . .
Your write is sad, but it has that touch of reality, that makes it live. . .
