Your story does sound like a truck stop from hell. Complete with disco dancers and giant trailer park rats. Enough to scare even the toughest trucker. I was wondering as I read what the final conclusion would be. Getting out of town sounds like it was the real thing to do.
I just finished my latest novel where my hero, a mole in service to, ending his service to America by riding across the country on US 50 in his British motorcycle. He camps out along the way, cooks in camp and avoids roadside restaurants.
