Just got this book at our local library: "Not Just the Levees Broke" is a story about fear. About loss. About life. About finding oneself again. A powerful read that will take the reader into the heart of the storm and its aftermath on a city and on its residents, on a nation still recovering ... thank God, this young lady didn't lose her soul. It is the vibrant heartbeat of a city slowly coming back.

Peace and Love to you too and stay on the right side of God and he should grant you terrific things in life. This I do know for sure. He is a giving lord, but we need to ask him for what we need.

When I read this title, I wondered how this poem would be, and boy, you exceeded all expectations by putting a face on this for us so that we feel your pain right on the surface. Great work.

I'm not kidding, I just got your book at our local library!! Also saw your segment on "When the Levees Broke."
I can't imagine what Katrina was like, but you took me there in your words. You pulled no punches. You took me down into the nitty gritty ... used to live 60 miles north of N'Awlins (up 'round Hammond), so glad I wasn't there when she came storming through. Have friends there, they were on my mind (thank God they all made it through). Wrote a lot about Katrina ... but this isn't about me. This is about YOU, and what you experienced ...
Your words are powerful. They need to be read. They need to see that through the storms, Grace was there ... an excellent write.
