Come the Realms of Winter (Book) - 7/4/2026 1:24:12 PM
Hi there! I really enjoyed reading your story, it was both interesting and well written. Your style feels very natural and easy to connect with. Do you usually write in this genre, or do you explore others as well?
Come the Realms of Winter (Book) - 6/25/2009 11:36:03 AM
Only one comment on this first chapter? I wish there were more and with luck I may have this book finished and published this year. Is there any interests in more of the story???

The Dragon and The Rose - Part 1: The Turning Point (Book) - 4/24/2007 12:51:43 PM
Hi! Diane, I read the excerpts of your 'dragons' books and found them fascinating. I am three quarters through my "fantasy' book; my first.
I was wondering how is the market for these kind of books? I am thinking of making this kind of book my genre too. Best of luck!
Please feel free to visit me at Freewebs.com/kendoo or here in the 'den'.

The Dragon and The Rose - Part 2: The Confrontation (Book) - 5/1/2002 2:53:47 PM
Outstanding sequal to the first Dragon and the Rose, with a wonderful ending. The story flows along quickly, and answers many questions raised in book 1. A very good ending to a great story !!!!

Riveting. Your work never fails to impress and excite me.
The Papyrus of Queen Nitocris (Short Story) - 11/9/2009 9:56:15 AM
Diane,
You mimic the style of H.P. Lovecraft extremely well, and with an added blend of your own sweet and exotic spices. Awesome job. In my opinion this story should become a novella or novel, because not only do the subjects of pyramids and Egypt conjure up fear and interest in the people whose minds are sensitive to the bizarre, but it is a great story in itself.
Childhood Shadows (Short Story) - 8/31/2009 2:07:03 PM
I disagree with Kenneth. I think the brief summaries were fine and dandy, and altogether not dissimilar to sour candy, based on the brevity of the language overall. The beginning reminded me of "Turn of the Screw," by Henry James--good suspense. The thing that bothered me the most was drinking coffee right before going to bed--I'm not the type of guy who does well with caffeine after dinner, and that took a bit of the reality out of things for me--but otherwise well told.
Childhood Shadows (Short Story) - 1/5/2008 12:27:33 PM
I really enjoyed reading this. Wonderful story in its own right, but the fact that it really happened just makes it even more riveting. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone - Bravo.

The Catholic Church is the only one that has the Eucharist.
It is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ.
No other place has it.
That is where God is to be found. While of course, He is reflected in everything that He created, don’t fall for DIY divinity narrative out there.
Go to where He can nourish you
God Bless you Diane
Challenge Given at Time of Roman Catholic Confirmation (Article) - 5/18/2015 7:52:25 PM
Try this. This is how we are saved...
Acts 2;38
"Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit".
Repentance: To repent means to turn to God with all your heart, giving up all sins, and living your life according to His word. Call on the name of Jesus, believing and confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior, confessing that He died for you and was raised from the dead to give you life. Confess that you're a sinner, confessing your sins to Him, and asking Him to forgive you and save you. Then give Him thanks and praise. Confess your sins to Jesus, not to any priest, because there is only "one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). Ezekiel 18:20-32, Isaiah 1:18-20. Romans 10:8-13, 1 John 1:9&10 and 2:1-6. Deuteronomy 6:1-7, Joshua 1:6-9 and 22:5. John 15:1-10 and 14:15.
Baptism: The word "baptize" means "immerse". It means to be totally immersed and covered in water for the washing away of sins. Sprinkling is not baptism, it's not immersion. Baptism must also be done in the name of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 4:5 says that there is only "One Lord, one faith, one baptism".
The baptism in Matthew 28:19, "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost", and in Acts 2:38, "in the name of Jesus Christ", are not contrary to each other. Jesus is the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. When baptism is done in the name of Jesus Christ, then both scriptures are fulfilled. So the biblical way to baptize, is by immersion in water in the name of Jesus Christ. Acts 10:43, Acts 4:12, Zechariah 14:9. Colossians 3:17.
Repentance and baptism work together for both forgiveness and cleansing of sins. In Mark 1;4, baptism is referred to as "the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins".
Receiving The Holy Ghost: The Holy Ghost is another word for the Spirit of God or the Spirit of Jesus. In reference to the Godhead, Ephesians 4:4 says that there is only "one Spirit". The Holy Ghost, Spirit of God, Spirit of Christ, and Spirit of the Lord are all the same person. Also, accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, and receiving Jesus, are two different things. Remember, the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Jesus, and when you receive the Holy Ghost, you receive Jesus. And as you receive Him, that is, when you are filled with His Spirit, you will begin speaking with other tongues.
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". And in Isaiah 28:11&12, it says, "For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, To whom He said, This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest, And, This is the refreshing”. So this stammering lips and speaking with other tongues, this is the rest, this is you being filled with the Holy Ghost and receiving the rest that Jesus promised to give to them that come to Him. So, yes, speaking with other tongues still exists, and is the evidence or sign of you receiving Jesus, the Holy Ghost.
What Shall We Do?
Believe in the Lord Jesus, repent of all your sins, be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking with other tongues, as the Spirit gives you the utterance.
After I was introduced to the Apostolic teaching about salvation and the oness of God, I wanted to know if these things were really true or not. So I started going to God about it and asking him to let me know if these things are true, to give me a confirmation, and searching the scriptures. And not only did God confirm these to me in His word, and by preachers, and by the manifestation of the Spirit, but God kept continuing teaching me more about it, and using me to share this gospel with others, God bearing witness to them Himself by His Spirit. I testify by the name of Jesus, that this is the true gospel of Christ that the Bible speaks of.

You are correct. The translations from all the languages are part of the different views of the Bible. Oddly from a Jewish friend of my family I learned that re translations have also occurred for their Books. This "fun" applies across all faiths. Even some scientific papers.
Challenge Given at Time of Roman Catholic Confirmation (Article) - 10/10/2013 12:42:40 PM
Of course, many biblical sounding truisms are really philosophical or ethical and other words can be substituted quite easily. That is why we cannot literally say the Bible is correct because the Bible was translated from many sources in several languages and the translators (and their rich benefactors like King James) made sure that the “right words” were in the Bible so that, upon repetition and indoctrination, like confirmation often is, the followers will all believe the same thing and quote the same biblical passages over and over to reinforce the thoughts imposed by the church. Since you altered church dogma, you may have shocked a few people with your statement.

Rhode Island History --Inspiration for Horror! (Article) - 7/31/2003 9:56:59 AM
I FIRST GOT INTO RHODE ISLANDS HISTORY OF VAMPIRES WHEN I FOUND OUT MY UNCLE LIVES 5 MINUTES AWAY FROM THE GRAVESITE OF NELLIE VAUGHN WHEN I FIRST WENT TO VISIT THE SITE I DISCOVERED THAT THE GRAVE WAS NO LONGER STANDING.TODAY ME AND MY FAMILY ARE GOING TO VISIT MERCY BROWNS.
Rhode Island History --Inspiration for Horror! (Article) - 4/11/2003 1:11:56 AM
Strong one here -- being that I visited New England, I can see where the gothic would have its roots in New England. I wanted to do something similar about the Midwest but that is going to be harder because it has a history that is recently quite macabre. Living in Illinois, you'd hear the stories about people cutting other people open for their infants in a ritualistic nature. A Charles Manson type of murder then the freakish suicide stories you hear over here about people laying on the rails allowing the train to decapitate them.
The most macabre of them would have to be where I grew up at in DuPage County -- on my street a woman was shot five times and found charred beyond reconition. Then the one that was close to me -- all too close because the person I went to school with did the killing of a cab driver. That this would be some of the true crime that is over here.
With or without Wings (Poetry) - 1/30/2021 9:06:26 AM
That first plane flight can be a memorable experience for most. Mine was either in 1947 or 48 when my uncle, returning from his continuing service in the Air Force after World War II, rented a Piper Cub and took me and my twin brother, individually, one at a time, up to fly around our small town when I was but five or six.
My grandmother, while I drove her cross-country in my air-conditioned Oldsmobile at speeds around 90 mph, related this story to me. When she was a child, her family moved from Arkansas to North Dakota one summer in a wagon pulled by oxen. Along the way, they spent their nights mostly in farm yards, thanks to the hospitality of farmers. That same year that I drove her so fast across the country, 1968, she flew to join me in California, first on a small plane to Minneapolis that scared her, and then a large plane from Minneapolis to San Francisco. All in one lifetime ox drawn wagon to jet plane. Only her generation could do that.

Time -- Just what is it? (Poetry) - 9/8/2017 8:50:03 AM
Time certainly is an interesting conundrum. Many prefer to give it the title of the fourth dimension. For example the three-dimensional radar image of Irma as she moves through time and space, currently predicted to travel right up the middle of the Florida Peninsula.
This morning I woke up at 5:55 AM. My helper asked me to wake her at 6:15 AM. I tried not to think of getting up and started counting, "1001, 1002 Colleen off the second and seeing if the digital clock on my dresser was changing seconds along with me. By the time I got to 40 seconds, a minute had already arrived ahead of schedule.

Everyday (Poetry) - 4/17/2003 4:50:55 AM
It was an interesting write, keep it up -- how many notebooks do you have with your poems in there. I lost a lot of them between the move from Iowa back to Illinois, the ones that you'd see are close to the 1998 writings would have to be Gen of the Void and "Tundra Sands." The ideas for those where there when I was homeless, did a lot of writing when I was on the street -- some of it was from the nightmares that were there. I have one peice on the website from high school -- "Nickolaus A. Pacione's The Glenbard Horror" and that is on the website. I penned that in 1991 but revised it in 1997. It was a slasher story which was a play on the horror films I grew up watching except the killer in the story was nameless (the original version was a machete welding werewolf, but the newer version I left the killer nameless.)

on "it was so hard" you need a separator... cuz the entire tense/tone/reason of the poem changes right there for a second... maybe "but..." or take it out and shove it at the end
