     Introduction to a longer short story.

      She is waiting to come out. She lives in the depths of her own insanity.

She is a narcissist, a manipulator, and most probably, a potential murderer.

How hard it was, growing up. It was as if she had had a small taste of

greatness, of admiration, of celebrity. She was pretty, and perfect.

      And then, it all changed. Abruptly, violently. She became an "ugly 

duckling."  Pimply, skinny, "four-eyed" freak of an adolescent. It was if 

Adolescence was an incredible, looming monster that had devoured all her 

hope, her uniqueness. She was a mediocre, banal shadow of her former

majesty. With an added horrific handicap, one might call it. Out of nowhere,

she began to experience weird, unyielding desires to perform repetitive tasks

whenever she had intrusive thoughts. Death, disease, and destructive events

were "real" consequences if she didn't turn lights off and on, touch her 

glasses to the floor, or walk down that wretched hallway(to her bedroom) any 

number of times till the "bad feeling" went away. She had changed, now, both

physically, and mentally. And not for the better. Only to be tormented by her

appearance and thoughts. Fate was an evil and cruel taskmaster.
