BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN

It was a night of unluck.

I'm not bad at poker, but I couldn't get a good hand to save my life.

The night wore on, descending into bouts of hysterical laughter until the sun came up.

My so-called friends took all my cash, all my rent, and all my debt.

A full house beats a busted flush.

Eddie walked me to the door and said, "Remember: even in defeat you can still lose."
