Chapter 1
Everything seemed to be happening in slow motion for Amy. The last thing she remembered was getting a knock at the door. After she opened the door, a large, burly man barged. Before she could react Amy felt a gun being pressed into her waist. “If you make one quick move I will hurt her”. When the man spoke, it sent chills down her spine. Next she heard her husband frantically try to defuse the situation. “Okay, buddy, you can have my money, there’s jewelry in the bedroom, take all of it, just don’t hurt my wife, please!” Pointing the gun at Robert, he barked “You! On the floor, facedown!” Forcing the gun back into her waist the gunman directed Amy to the back of the house. “Where’s the master bedroom?” he demanded, pressing the gun closer to her waist. “At the end of the hall” she croaked, finding it hard to speak. Once in the bedroom, Amy took him to her jewelry box. He emptied everything into a sack. She hadn’t noticed the sack until that moment. After getting the cash from her purse, he took duct tape from his pocket and made her lie on the bed, and then he taped her hands behind her back. When the invader disappeared into the bedroom, gun pressed to his wife’s back, Robert had to fight the impulse to follow. He knew that both their lives could depend on his not losing his head. He lay there listening for any sound that might tell him Amy was safe.

When he heard tape being torn from a roll, he knew that the robber was tying her up, Robert only prayed was all this man intended to do to his precious wife. Minutes stretched by as the listened for the gunman’s return. After what seemed like hours, he heard heavy footsteps coming down the hall. He heard more tape tearing and knew he was about to be tied up, as his wife had been. The gunman worked quickly to secure Robert’s ankles and wrists.

Once he had both victim bound, Jabar casually walked out to his truck that was parked a few blocks away. By the time he placed his haul in the bed of the truck, he had decided something. It bothered him, but the couple had to die. There was no other way to insure they would never rat on him. He didn’t think that either of the young couple realized that he wanted the wife. He wanted her in a way only a husband should, but he would have her all the same.

When Robert heard the door shut behind the gunman he prayed that was the end of their ordeal. Relief flooded in at that thought. Robert prayed, thanking God for protecting both of them, and asked him to send someone to release the bonds holding them. In the bedroom, Amy was listening for a sound that would tell her what was going on.

When Jabar reached the front door once more, he got a sinking feeling in his stomach. He had robbed before, but he had never murdered. This robbery had just gone wrong. He should have pretended that he was at the wrong house when she answered and come back when no one was home. It was too late to think about that now.

Back in the house, Jaber decided to have his pleasure first. He went straight to the bedroom. Taking a moment to enjoy the view of the woman, prone on the bed. When he could wait no longer, he climbed on the bed. He eagerly went to work, undressing the woman. He could feel her quaking in fear, knowing what was coming.

Amy began to shake when she realized this man’s intentions for her. It had always been one of her worst fears to be raped. She prayed that was only as far as this man intended to go, that she would live through this ordeal. When he started violating her, she thought of trying to resist, then realized it would do no good, as he had her bound. Amy tried to pretend she was in another place, and that what was happening was only dream. This wasn’t a dream it was a nightmare. One that seemed it could only end badly. She thought of her husband, she didn’t know if he was dead or alive right now. She prayed that he was only bound, unable to come to her rescue. Time moved slowly as she was raped several times over the next 2 hours, making it seem like much longer. When it was finally over, she was left bruised and bleeding on the bed, with her tormentor standing over her. She didn’t know it, but he was trying to decide weather to kill her now, or to kill her husband first. He decided that it would be best to kill the wife first, then after he shot the husband, he would could just walk right out the front door, since he was using a silencer on his gun, the neighbors wouldn’t hear either shot. He stood at the foot of the bed and aimed the gun at the back of the woman’s head. He hesitated just a moment, try to find a way not to kill these innocent people, but knew this was the only way to keep them from ratting on him. Squeezing the trigger, he tried to hold the gun steady, despite his shaking hand. The gun went off, sending sparks flying out the rear of the gun, but making very little noise, thanks to the silencer. He watched the woman’s body jolt at the impact of the bullet, then go limp. Satisfied that the shot has done the job, he turned, leaving the woman, dying, on the bed. He walked down the hall to the room he they started out in. Standing over the man he shot directly in the back of his head, right at the base of his skull. The same way the woman had jolted, the man did too. After stowing his gun back in his waist ban of his pants. Jabar walked calmly to his truck. After he climbed in, he started the motor and drove away, never looking back.

Authors Note: This is my latest idea for a novel. There will be more chapters to come, as I write them.
