This week, Studio Reader Stan re-encounters Marvin, the beret-wearing hipster.
|
Studio Reader Stan sits by himself in a coffee shop when Marvin, the beret-wearing hipster, walks in and spots him.
Marvin: Hey, Studio Reader Stan. Great to see you again. I’ll have a Vanilla Latte.
Studio Reader Stan: I don’t work here, Marvin. And again, it’s Larry.
Marvin: That’s cool. So how’s the studio reading thing going?
Studio Reader Stan: It hasn’t caused me to poke out my eyeballs yet. How's your screenwriting coming along?
Marvin: I've retired from screenwriting. It was too much work. I'm a producer now.
Studio Reader Stan: Oh-kay. And how's that going?
Marvin: Excellent. I got my first credit. I'm an executive producer on the new movie "Earn Your Keep."
Studio Reader Stan: That's...unbelievable. How'd you manage that?
Marvin: I won it in a drinking game with one of the producers.
Studio Reader Stan: That's all it took?
Marvin: Yep. My drinking skills are quite advanced.
Studio Reader Stan: Does that mean you had nothing to do with the making of the movie?
Marvin: Yeah. I don't even know what it's about.
Studio Reader Stan: And you're okay with that?
Marvin: No. Can you believe they're making me share the credit with two other people?
Studio Reader Stan: How unfortunate for you.
Marvin: You're telling me. It better not cut into my profit participation. So, about that Latte I ordered. Will it be ready soon?
Studio Reader Stan moves one day closer to poking his eyeballs out.
