Studio Reader Stan meets again with his psychiatrist, Dr. Melrose.
As Studio Reader Stan discusses his problems, Dr. Melrose starts packing up his belongings.
Dr. Melrose: Studio Reader Stan, we’re going to have to cut today’s session short. I’ve got a script meeting with your mom in an hour.
Studio Reader Stan: With my mom?
Dr. Melrose: Yeah. She’s secured some Romanian film financing so our picture’s a go.
Studio Reader Stan: You’re telling me that not only have you been speaking to my mom without my knowledge or permission, but that you’ve also written a script together?
Dr. Melrose: Yeah, get this – we both combined all that we know about you: your neurosis, your greatest fears, your worst habits – into our main character, and boy is he pathetic.
Studio Reader Stan: Isn’t that extremely unethical?
Dr. Melrose: Not at all… Well, okay, maybe a little… All right, it’s completely inappropriate. But it’s not like we’ve used your real name or anything. Our character’s called Larry.
Studio Reader Stan: That is my real name!
Dr. Melrose: Really? Well, you should be flattered, then. All of Romania will now know your problems.
Studio Reader Stan: Flattered is not really what I’m feeling right now.
Dr. Melrose: Terrific. Do me a favor and write down what you are feeling. If your mom and I do a sequel, we’ll need more material. Now I Gotta run. See ya’ next week.
As Dr. Melrose leaves, Studio Reader Stan wishes he could experience being in a coma.
