Studio Reader Stan is on the set of socialite Rome Marriott’s movie (which was in development in Studio Reader Stan episodes 6 - 8). He's there with Mr. Gold, the studio executive who actually greenlit it.
Mr. Gold sweats heavily as Studio Reader Stan arrives on set.
Mr. Gold: Studio Reader Stan, we have a problem with this Rome Marriott production.
Studio Reader Stan: What a shocker.
Mr. Gold: Yeah, I didn’t see it coming, either.
Studio Reader Stan: So, what’s the problem? You saw her act?
Mr. Gold: Yes, she seems to have no ability. Plus, the director’s back in a coma and we start shooting in two hours.
Studio Reader Stan: That is quite a pickle.
Mr. Gold: That’s not the worst of it. Some of us finally read the script she wrote – and it makes no sense whatsoever. It sure would have been nice to have known that a lot sooner.
Studio Reader Stan: Well, in the coverage I handed in months ago, I wrote, among other things, “This script makes no sense whatsoever.”
Mr. Gold: Really? Did you put it in all caps?
Studio Reader Stan: No, but I did also write the script was dreadful and that no one should ever, ever film it.
Mr. Gold: I’m betting that wasn’t in all caps either.
Studio Reader Stan: No, it wasn’t. I apologize. I accept complete blame for this debacle.
Mr. Gold: Good. I respect when people take accountability for their mistakes. Just be sure to put it in writing. I’ll have it notarized later.
Studio Reader Stan: Sure. It’s not like I have a career that I’m trying to pursue. Perhaps you’d also like me to say I put the director in the coma.
Mr. Gold: Only if we can’t resuscitate him before filming starts.
As Mr. Gold rushes out, Studio Reader Stan suddenly wishes comas were contagious.
