Once upon a time, there was a blind man who lived in the pastoral areas of Somalia. He had children and led a happy life. Whenever one of his sons gets married, the younger son took care of the father. Finally it was the turn of the youngest boy in the family. The boy took care of his father and held his cane whenever the family moved to another area. The youngest son became a man and wanted to lead his own life. One day, the family was moving and the son held the stick for his father. While in the bush, he told him to sit under a big tree and wait for him. The son left his father under the big tree and a lion killed the father.

After very many years, the son grew old, raised children and became a blind father. He went through the same process as his father, the oldest son taking care of him each time and the next one when the older brother is gone. Finally it was the youngest son’s turn. The son grew up and wanted to get married. He took his father to the bush and told him to wait while he returns. The blind father felt that the son was not coming back and asked him to describe the big tree and its surroundings. After the son gave the description, the blind father realized that it was actually the same tree that he left his father for the wolves to eat. His son left him there and a lion ate him.

Lesson: Tit for tat is a fair game. If you mistreat an honest person, you will face the same abuse.
