Sitting in front of the computer slapping my head from side to side!

Finding a literary agent is so difficult that at times you want to smack your head from side-to-side and commit more physical harm on your body.

Maybe if I thump hard eough on my head, my brain cells will work in overdrive and figure out a way to entice literary agents to look at my fifth novel: Killer Kudzu.

I feel like Don Quixote of Man of La Mancha fame in chasing that windmill and finding that Impossible Dream.

What a futile process!

I have the following qualifications:

a. Five published books: A Brownstone in Brooklyn, Philly Style and Philly Profile, The Ghost of Atlanta, Phantoms of Rockwood and Jumpstarting your Inner Novelist.

b. 2007 and 2011 Georgia Author of the Year Nominations.

c. Readers Favorite 2011 International Gold Medal for fiction: The Ghost of Atlanta beat out over 200 books for this prestegious award.

d. A Brownstone in Brooklyn, Philly Style and Philly Profile had the hoor of making the book shelves of the brick & mortar book stores and sold at a good pace.That's right an independent book making the book shelves of this famous book seller.

e. I have been a five-time presenter and panel moderator at the AJC-Decatur Book Festival in Decatur, Georgia, presenter at the 2010 Virginia Festival of the Book, speaker at the 2010 Buffalo Book Fair in Buffalo, New York and many other annual book fairs.

f. My novels are on the book shelves in Public Libraries all over the USA: Brooklyn, New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Atlanta, Georgia, Chicago, Illinois, Dekalb County, Georgia, Gwinnett County, Georgia, Fulton County, Georgia and in the Regional Library System in Northeast Georgia.

g. I was a creative writing instructor in the "Writer's Studio" at Evening at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

h. I have worked hard at building a media platform for my books and have crashed many barriers and I will continue to work hardfer in reaching my goal of a well-know American author.

Yet, all this seems invisible to literary agents.

I work hard writing my novels and constantly dedicated in improving my crafat.

However, frustration sets in at times and erodes enthusiam.

I read on agent Linday Roghaar's website a comment that is an aspirin to ease the pain: "Don't take rejection personally. More often than not a rejection is ot about your writing; rather it's tjhat you've gotten it to the wrong perso at the wrong time. Look at the package critically and send it out to another."

Yet the literary agent front is silent for me...totally void of positive responses. I have great social media platorms with plenty of readers: Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, Authorsden, BlacksinAmerica, etc.

I've followed all the rules, my five published books are well received and garnered national honors and compliments from award winning authors like Terry Kaye, but I keep getting the following form letter after form letter.

Dear Author:

Thank you so muh for sending the (blank) Literary Agency your query...we recommend that you pursue other agents. After all, it just takes one "yes" to find the right match.

Well, I will end this blog and start looking up other literary agents.

Ooh, my head is still hurting from my palm slapping my head from side-to-side!
