What Hilary had failed to add was that he was also extremely handsome. He was tall with dark hair and his shoulders looked broad enough to burst through the seams of his black leather jacket. Had I known that somebody like him was coming to mend my clock I would have done something about my appearance. I regretted my baggy old tracksuit.

An interesting tale, well told. Ms. Graham has created two memorable characters. She also has a knack for writing sharp, witty dialogue. The conversations literally crackle here! And I did not see (SPOILER ALERT!) the climax, in which Mr. Bible-thumper turns Lothario, coming. Great, great stuff!
