When I was working in the hospital, oft times we would have to defibrillate, or shock a patient to get their heart started again. Sometimes more than once.
I noticed after a while that the electricity would always leave burns on the patients chest.
But ONLY if the patient lived.
These burns would show up the next day or so.
So...after that when I would ask a defibrillated patient how they were feeling, Sometimes they would say,
"I feel good except for these burns on my chest."
If I felt like the patient could understand, I would tell them the simple fact stated above.
Some would look at me funny, and say, "Oh."
Not too many folks complained about much of anything after that.
