A young Sicilian woman comes to America during WW II with her young infant son and sister. Leaving her family and country behind she beings to start a new life with the hopes of her husband joining her eventually. Unfortunately, devastating news from home summons her sister back to Sicily leaving Rose and her son behind. Unforeseen events take place which change her life forever.
Rose continued to work, determined to make a life for her and Sal, Jr., and as time passed made many friends in the restaurant especially the owner of the restaurant, Tony Pagano.As the friendship grew, Rose, Tony and Sal, Jr., went shopping and occasionally went to New York to explore the sights.Tony was the tour guide and showed Rose many sights within the city.Laughter and happiness, once unknown to Rose, became a wonderful experience but because her friend was a male she knew the family could never find out about him, not even Gina.
