“Who needs a king, God is your king” responded Samuel the prophet.
The elders listened to him and were unhappy with the answer.
Then Samuel, who could not understand their motive continued:
“I am your simple servant. I took note of your decisions. In the end, you are the ones who decide for your destiny.” The elders insisted and so the people of Israel replaced their democracy with King Saul, and later with King David.

With so many voting this year, I wonder how many will vote their emotions (as in the past two elections), and not through knowledge of who they vote for? Trying times, for the voter and politicians, methinks...
