Addendum to the story of Connell York, member 11th Airborne battalion, World War II who was haunted by the memory of an unnamed song he heard children singing in rural Tokyo, post war Japan. This is a footnote to "York's World War II Memoir."
Attached is the music manuscript for "Usagi to Kame," "The Tortoise and Hare," discovered after my painstaking search for its identity.
The transliterated Japanese appears in the text. The English translation is contained at the conclusion of the original story posted on Authors Den.
The disovery brought closure for York. He finally brought this piece home from the front to be with him forever.
