In hopes of controlling violent weather on Earth.

Space voyagers in a

mission armed with a new technology.

Tackle the perils

of- Neptune. Only to discover and tote home more

than they ever thought possible.

Three generations of super humans grace the American landscape.

Today what’s left of the normal culture is very old. Technology

development seemingly overnight has spurred tremendous change. Over the

road terrain vehicles dominate highways. The weather that plaque’s mankind for

centuries, is completely out of control. Man who lived for eons defining himself

outdoors, spends his existence inside.

Hospitals are nowhere. The buildings that once were large and

spacious today are filled with senior citizens in makeshift fitness centers and

large L.C.D screens that glow from every room. The scientific community leap

frogs.

The Human Genome is mapped and controlled. This long awaited marvel is

Referred to as Gene altering. Or- A.T for short. People live Healthier with a

Stronger competitive will. Institutional learning Is accomplished at birth.

Super humans have no known contact with children. They share no emotional

Systems as in times of old. No pain, No Crying, No loneliness. They feel no

longing for the opposite sex or seek communion with. Women have evolved into

different creatures. Child bearing and husbandry are a distant

memory.

.

Today Men and women compete fairly. From higher learning to

political decisions. The world population under raps. Food is grown four

times faster underground and is not sold in open stores or markets. These

cloned animal-plant combinations resemble energy bars similar

to those of the - 1980’s. Taken orally they remain in the blood

longer. Once defecated, they are usually recycled. Supers

seek Life on a higher plane. They hold no religious, racial or sex

interest. Or even prejudice there of. He lives in communities

of his own gender lusting for time in a an advance system of pleasure

called-- The Pipeline. During suspension. He reaches a reinvigorated

emotion state similar to having left life and entered heaven. So many

units of work equates to time in- suspension.

Most animals of the earth long gone. No birds, Fish or Cattle. Super humans

Find artificial life compelling. Robotic creatures commonplace. Supers

Use telepathy and Are taught basic language for the benefit of left over

Humans. They call man an easily pronounce word----The --Squeakers.

In rare instances. Super communicate with man and are

easily understood. Their mimic of basic language is somewhat difficult.

Most communications are done through signs and or mannerism.

3.

In rare Instances man has learned or picked up on-- super human

telepathy. Today’s world - Everyone wears ultra sleek light aluminum

looking clothes and no undergarments. They take showers with

Their clothes on as often as three times a day. A special outlet

Sends a spraying mixture of antibacterial soap and a warm mixture

Of water that with a heated blast of air dries the skin quickly.

The sun unbearable, Most activities outside are

preplanned in arena’s and are limited to token showings in pre dawn

formats. A Monitoring system prohibits virus

And bacteria infection. It even lets the wearer know when they’re most

at risk. A Fluid Canister is sewn in the clothing. It allows the wearer his

Favorite refreshment--Coffee, Iced Tea or Spring water. All though a sleeve

sewn safety lever lets the user stop when told, while simultaneously

Beefing up his immune defenses.

Communications:

Today all government duties and tasks are second nature. Predisposed for in

Their rites of passage at birth. Who collects the trash- Who makes outer

Space voyages. Supers with the more favorable traits are selected for the latter.

4.

In planning for a space exploration. Supers are awarded individual tasks and

priorities based upon experience or needs of a mission. Today 40 were

selected.

Five different age groups are to be represented.

1. Two years of age and ten.

2. Eight years of age and eighteen.

3. Twenty eight years of age and thirty eight.

4. Forty eight years of age and Fifty eight.

5. Sixty years of age and Seventy Eight.

All groups have identical metabolisms & body composites for space travel

criteria.

All are self reliant and team assist oriented.

With one outstanding Superhuman difference.

I’m the only boy.

The plan: Attempt sustained control of violent forces of weather with newly

invented equipment.

Use a distant atmosphere for the setup and if successful return

Crew and equipment in tact.

When we trained we had programs jammed in every sensory organ.

5.

Space craft of today have evolved along way. They are much bigger with

separate Compartments for changes in work mode. Gravity under wraps and

Pressure at one atmosphere. Supers walk about freely and can eat, drink and

Find recreation-- The Pipeline is installed in the front cabin section- Crews

Are without loss of appetite as in the earlier century exploration. Weightlessness

and or a long work stretch is nonexistent.

Supers- enjoy space travel. They find Space rewarding. The

Command Module is 8 times the

size of twentieth century shuttles. They look Identical in some ways but have

built in Virus and microbe sensory control. L.C.D Screens which are three

Dimensional and interactive. Sophisticated Robotic help moves burdensome

Objects during routine function.

Speeds can reach Mach 12 at G-1 force. Computers guide and steer our voyage.

Speed adjustments seldom delay or disturb crews. Our command

is by the way named after something passed down from earlier times.

We’re the U.S.S Cyclops.

Named from the Greek one eye god of mythology. Our spaceship

was first to be powered totally with nuclear fission and non operational in any

way by It’s crew. We’re also a first-- to use a portable version of the Hubble

telescope on board in the front section of the cockpit.

6.

On Duty 24 hours. It allows obstructions to be veered from well in advance of

reaching dangerous proximity.

Our goal : Land on : Neptune-

Information gathered from satellite positions and Virtual Reality probes show

this to be our most forgiving workstation in the outer reaches of our Galazy. Ideal

should explosions or mistakes by our envoy take place. Her distance would

impede a catastrophic chain reaction or spillover reaching Earth with our

advanced deteriorating Ionosphere. Scientist believe- Neptune with a

A Six month cycle of a Spring and an extended Fall period. Our best most

favorable Site for testing a new technology.

Most reports vary as to her hard surface density. Many believe Neptune to be

Only clouds or gases. Storms of sever magnitude are a genuine

threat. Ideal if we make it through her orbit- find a place to spear.

Oh- I’m sorry. It’s a term we use to describe a

Shell encasement that deploys forming a two mile long stretch to land.

Ideal for a steep stall angle descent by our mission.

In Orbit:

Our voyage has taken two hours. Neptune is our eighth planet. A bluish haze in

view. We now descend. No windows, LCD screens on board display a fog on a

computer screen.

7.

Our spear deploys.

We continue off in a distance then veer back lowering down. The landing

site moves about splashing on a large ocean under the platform.

Noise from the Air displacement can be heard three thousand feet above in our

Our pressurized cabin. We descend.--Four, three, two,--Touchdown.

Our ship zooms about then slows first taking a few seconds then slows to a

complete stop.

It moves its way for the landing zone office at the far end of the

spear. One occupant studies a cliff formation. Now aware of hard evidence of

land and a surface not to far off. The Crew takes precautionary

measures wearing oxygen masks before disembarking. A

strong wind blows everything. It peals at the matting of our site. You can hear

water splashing under our platform. Immediately everyone rushes in closing the

Office door. One Robotic creature leads the envoy as we double step single file.

A Super connects a device which

Immediately scans a few miles of our perimeter. He pushes an image to

display on a newly assembled large screen which now lights up on our wall.

Everyone sits on the floor making themselves comfortable. Looking with the help

of the optics at a distant moon. Everything becomes focused. The Matting of the

spear rocks our

site continuously as the ocean splashes beneath us. Winds beat our

post with a growing force.

I stagger with a rocking sway to our lead -commander.

8.

Using telepathy- A senior female looks

at me as I look focused at her -- well?

She points to a distant tornado a few miles away. A super we

know as Teresa interrupts- Justin-- inbound- Under Two hours- A robotic

creature moves things for a second creature now with a large

wheeled workstation.

This device mounts on site, while a second group of robots furiously adjust the

apparatus to a large white Coned tripod mounting outside. The lead mission

commander turns at everyone- Anyone interested in being airborne? I nod.

Everyone else seemingly volunteers. I feel a sensation aware I’m selected.

Three others make their way to the office door. Our space craft starts and

Prepares to taxi. One older women looks at another display in the right side of

the Cockpit display. She shrugs as two other violent storms moving toward our

position.

Teresa one of the others who made the pick looks at me frowning-I’m beginning

to have a weird sensation. I actually feel something. I look at the space

commander Then

watch the landing zone as we gain

More altitude from the site. I feel the urge to scratch my wrist. I rip off my

glove. She laughs--See! I stare at another crew member. She begins

Removing her head mount. We all start laughing. I go into hysterics.

9.

I glance over at Teresa- We’re not so different from-- the squeakers. The

Space craft veers by its --first challenge. A slow moving tornado. I look back to

The cockpit screen- It’s bigger then we thought. Its really a small hurricane.

The commander pushes a visual enhancement of the object for the rest of

Mission at the landing zone to see.

The Storm forces closer. Teresa activates a Screen setting- It’s -

3oomph and closing!. On the ground a haze darkens the far side of the spear.

Ocean waves pound splashing the entire site. A sudden bright

orange light beam makes the frontal system. It disintegrates on contact. Our

crew lets out a cheer which reaffirms my suspicions.

Yes we can- We can control and predict the weather. We can even

gain or feelings and emotions. The spaceship veers to our next weather storm

challenge. Teresa stares at me concentrating- This thing’s a-- water funnel of

some kind. The commander activates a Screen Mode that shows the storm to

The landing zone. Once more a Orange light hits the pressure system. This

time the water droplets causes our sensors to go blind. The water funnel begins

to settle. The crew really begins to cheer. I turn about the space craft- Well-We

proven our point- The ship commander spots another storm off in the distance.

She activates the screen back on the Spear. A robotic arm moves an adjustment

Increasing the power of the cone sending the beam to a much greater distance.

10.

We veer back for our site. The beam reaches the tornado initially not causing

a reaction then suddenly, a loud exploding noise. The space commander shrugs

at us- Wow! Its sure funny feeling things for the first time. She looks at Teresa.

Smiling. Terasa grows embarrassed-Think we better head in land- ok?. They

decelerate for the site. I find myself staring at her all the way to the

officer. She’d looks back at me making a warm frown. A smile follows. We

quickly enter the workstation. A walk thru instrument

Checks our suites for foreign contaminates. The ground crew commander smiles -

Good work comrades! Great visuals too! I even notice the oceans a lot calmer.

Not wanting to waste time and resources, Our explorers begin packing and

preparing to board the Cyclops. Robots

remove our heavier equipment breaking it down in a systematically format. It

Quickly loads in the cargo hull. Our mission --accomplished. We close the

Space ship. Teresa bumps

my arm- We did it!--We

really did it! The space craft taxi’s then lifts from the spear. A United States flag

Blows with a plaque on a distant land marker.

To our brave comrades of space exploration- Veni vidi visus. ( We came- We

saw- We Conquered!).

The infamous haze of blue surrounds the craft as we climb from Neptune’s

Orbit.

11.

I activate a iced tea then study the thirty nine others.

One mid life women looks at- Teresa. She begins to smirk back at me- She’s-

Pretty!

The whole crew hears her and begins to laugh. I realize our mission is

bringing back more than we ever dreamed or expected.

Not just the badly needed advance equipment to save our planet but our real life

Emotions. We travel home safely and slowly make Reentry.

Earth appears on our screen. We descend at a sharp pitch angle

Minimizing heat factors, Suddenly the Atlantic coast of Europe.

We pass over then turn due West for Huston, Texas. Teresa smiles - So this is

what it’s really like? I shrug- What‘s --what- like? - Her eyes tear - Earlier

humans- They really felt something for one another.

The End.
