Dear Louisiana:
Wow, what a letter from you that I have gotten in my email today! Terrific letter! I enjoyed all that you wrote, and I am glad that you had a good time in Louisiana! Bet you can't wait to get back home or back to work now, can you? Knowing you...you are a regular workhorse, what with your village--ah, er, FAMILY! LOL--and your job at the hospital! LOL I still can't figure out how you manage to do everything and STILL find time to relax at the end of the day! If I were you, I'd be pulling my hair out by the ROOTS! LOL
I am feeling better, today was a very good day for me. While I still can't move my hand all that much (I am afraid that this will never change; I will just have to get used to doing everything one-handed, I guess!), and my leg is still weak (I still wear a brace on it, and I use a crutch now--or a wheelchair if I have to go for longer distances--), but I am HOME, and I am slowly returning to my life prior to when I was in the hospital! I am glad you are doing better and that you have recovered from your sinus infection/migraine headache! That must have been AWFUL!
And then your daughter, Ronee', breaks her arm...how AWFUL! I am sorry she fell, and I am sorry that she has to wear a cast for six weeks! I bet she isn't amused...I wouldn't be if I were her! Tell her that if she comes to the wedding next month, I will be more than happy to sign her cast, and so will Michael! Give her our love, and tell her to behave herself and not to fall any more! Glad she made it through LeCajun okay; and happy to hear of her auditioning for the "America's Most Talented Kids" show! Let us know how she does, okay? Thanks!
Sorry, too, to hear about Johnny's dog, "Ginger", getting into the chocolate and eating herself sick (LITERALLY!)! Glad she is all better, but I bet you have learned a powerful lesson: chocolates and animals do NOT mix! "Aurora", our husky, did that very thing last fall, before I was injured, and she was so very sick; I was afraid that she was going to be a dead doggie, but by some fluke, she pulled through, and now she is her old frisky self again! Tell your son's "Ginger" that our dog, "Aurora", barks her her love and sends her some warm, wet doggie kisses, okay? Thanks!
And tell Johnny that we send him our love, hugs, and kisses, too! Hope he is doing well; he is probably doing better than his sister is at the moment! Tell me..is HE auditioning for the "America's Most Talented Kids" show, too? If so, tell him good luck from Alaska, and tell him that we are looking forward to seeing him again next month at our wedding! Tell him to bring his doggie pal, too; we'd LOVE to see her again, and I KNOW that "Aurora" is looking forward to seeing her again, too!
How are you enjoying the Olympics? We have been watching it every day, and we are happy to know that the Americans are doing so well at the Games! I have stayed holed up in my room, with "Aurora" at my side, watching the Olympic action on the boob tube, and Michael has, too. I have still been going to my monthly doctor's checkups at the local hospital, and he is about to release me from his care, another huge step towards normalcy and independence.
Whoops! The phone is ringing (because I am deaf, I have a light that lights up when the phone is ringing, and it is doing that very thing now; that is how I know the phone is going off!), so I will have to continue this later! Sorry to make it so short!
