I am sitting here, trying to get my back to calm down. I slept on it wrong and it is especially sore this morning. Looks like a good soaker of a bath is in the offering for me this morning---*OW*
My wife and I are typing away on our computers: she is writing to her friend in Alaska, and I am writing in here, in my online journal. The kids are up, getting ready for school, but I have to tell them to be quiet so Ronee' can sleep. Ronee' is sick with a sinus infection; yesterday she went to the doctor's for some relief, and the medicine they gave her makes her sleepy. She probably won't go back to school until later this week or on Monday of next week.
We have been trying to get our place ready for spring and for Easter: we are having company arriving from California, and I want the place to look in tip-top shape. My daughter Ronee' has met the people who are coming, but the rest of the family hasn't. Johnny is especially excited: Rebekkah Cohen is his girlfriend, and he has already told her that he is in love with her. This should prove to be interesting for all of us, but particularly for Johnny.
Speaking of Johnny, he is trying to get a cold: he has been sneezing, and he has been complaining of a sore throat. I pray not: he has muscular dystrophy, and whenever Johnny gets sick, it always turns into a big deal. He is in a good mood despite it; he is happy because of his girlfriend coming to visit in a few weeks.
We had some mighty inteesting weather on Sunday: tornado watches and warnings, and several communities to the west of us got nailed. Over two dozen people were killed when tornadoes struck several counties just west of us, and when the weather came to us, it was very volatile. Scary stuff: frequent, strobe flashes of lightning, constantly booming thunder, golfball- or baseball- sized hail, and winds as high as 70 m.p.h. at times.
Our power went out briefly before the generators kicked back in; but even in our storm shelter, we could hear the weather outside. It was terrifying! All we could do was hang onto one another and pray.
God must have listened: we had no damage to our place (other than a few shingles and some small trees blown over was all), and nobody was injured or killed; so for that we can be eternally grateful. It could have very easily been so much worse!
Barbara is happy: she gets her first paycheck come Friday. She is working at Golden Corral on the weekends, and she loves it. My daughters Camey and Tammi have been enjoying their new jobs at Fire Mountain, and they get paid every week, on Monday. Hopefully raises will be in their future. *sigghhhhhhh* More children preparing to spread their wings and fly--it chokes me up to think of it! My kids are growing up, and I am having a hard time dealing with it! (Just call me a sentimental old fool!)
My oldest daughter's pregnancy is progressing without incident: she is having a little girl, which will mean Grandchild #6 for us. We also have a daughter who will be getting married in the summer down in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she lives, and we have our two cruises to look forward to. Busy times ahead for the Sandusky Crew! (My wife and myslf are going to Mexico in June for a five-day cruise to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, and in October, we are taking the entire family to Alaska for a free two-week-long cruise.)
Well, I have to go-Louie has just left, and Ronee' is calling; have to tend to her. Take care, and will write in here again!
