Reagan Laura Patterson updates us on what has been going on in her world in Hope, Arkansas, where she lives with her family.

Howdy!  It's your Arkansian friend, Reagan Patterson, writing!  Hope this finds y'all well.  As for me, I'm still a bit shellshocked over the bad weather we had a few days back; we didn't really have any damage, but we are still without power, and it might be a week before we get it back.  Right now, we are staying at the shelter, where it is cooler.  Folks south of us got hit hard by the storms, so I guess we can count our blessings, even though we have no power and have some minor damage.

I haven't heard from my friend, Reaux Delahoussaye; she and her family went to Mississippi to visit relatives; Mississippi got hit hard by tornadoes, including an EF-5 (the baddest of the bad) in Yazoo City, Mississippi.  Turns out her one aunt and uncle live there; I am getting really worried about them.  I pray they are okay!!

My sister Lindsay, is still being a brat:  she cries all the time; it is beginning to drive me crazy!  My brother, Johnathan, is being a brat, too, but then, that's nothing new with him.  I am more than ready to have ma and pa send them to the Eskimos in Alaska!!

School is going okay, but I've had a ton of homework; I am about ready for school to end!  I'm also ready for Memorial Day weekend!  I'm also ready for the bad weather to go away; we had bad storms a few days ago, and about a month ago, we had storms that caused damage to our house.  We had to stay in the Red Cross shelter for a week 'til our house could be fixed; now we had some more storms and some more damage (and now no power).  I tell ya, we can't win here in the south when it comes to the weather lottery!  :(

My cousin with muscular dystrophy, William, is doing okay, but he's gotten weaker; he is totally wheelchair-dependent:  he's lost all his ability to walk.  It really bothers me because I can remember playing with him in the tree house pa built when we were younger.  Now he can't even get out of the house, let alone, up into our tree house.  It shows just how weak he's getting, and it upsets me to no end.

I just wonder how long he will live; I don't like to think about it, but I do, all the time.  William and I may be cousins, but we're close like brother and sister; we get along great; alays have, always will.

Well, I gotta go:  we're having supper, then ma and pa are taking us out to the park while the weather is good, so we can get away from the shelter.  I'm getting a bad case of cabin fever, and I'm ready to throttle my brother and sister!  Take care and may God bless you always!

~Love, your Arkansas friend, Reagan.  :)

Keep us in prayer; pray we get a break from all this bad weather!  We could really use it!! :(

We hadn't a bratty sister, but I think that my siblings would have said that I was the bratty one! LOL

It's always nice to hear how our friends from past stories are getting on. Though still without power, Reagan and her family, including her bratty sister and brother, at least they have a home to go home to. Good update, Karen.

Have a feeling the storms are going to continue: season was late getting started. :( Know how Reagan feels - ready for stable air overhead!! Well done, Karen.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
