Due to extenuating circumstances in my life, like a whacky mom and messy divorce, I eloped at the age of seventeen, with my high school sweetheart, replacing all my dreams with different ones. We raised six kids and had wonderfully comical lives. Butch was the regimental "Sound of Music' dad, whistling for his kids, while I was the nurturer. We crossed country twice, lived in a real haunted house and were living a wonderful life, if not wealthy monetarily, rich in love. A tragic accident happened, changing our lives forever. And so began the book, . . .AND THE WHIPPOORWILL SANG, written as a catharsis for my grief and salvation for my sanity, as we learned to weep . . .to laugh . . .to grieve . . .to dance.    

Twenty-five years as a staff writer, penning commentary, news, analysis and interviews for the prestigious, award-winning bi-weekly newspaper, The Staten Island Register. Over twenty years of writing for the large local newspaper, The Staten Island Advance, which published all my slice of life humor, pathos and commentary--serving a community of 4-500,000 people. I wrote my first horror story and was published first time out in The Princeton Womens' Magazine of Princeton, NJ. The first short story of our lives was published first time out too, in Victimology: an International Journal. I wrote short stories for The Bronxville Womens' Magazine, in Bronxville, NY and also for Writer Digest School Newsletters. I had many stories published in Skyline Magazine both in e-zine and print, along with poems in their sister magazines and won several contests on line. . . .AND THE WHIPPOORWILL SANG, a memoir, is my first book, released as a second edition on September 2, 2012. I recently wrote a children's book, "The Cat Who Wanted a Dog," and am presently about to publish a collection of slice of life fiction and non-fiction short stories, called "Don't Pluck the Duck.
I received the MADD endorsement for my book, and at least 13 High School libraries in three major cities are ordering the book for their shelves--one requesting my book as required reading for their students. I've hosted a few aol chats and guested on many more, had several book signings, including Borders and Barnes&Noble, plus a book fair at the Staten Island Technical School.
I have done several Blog Talk radio and Youtube interviews and have about a dozen short stories in award winning anthologies such as "Tales2Inspire," "The Speed of Dark," "Creature Features," and "Women's Memoirs."
