The man who is trapped in his house because of a vicious dog decides to take action.

Warning: if you love animals, this is NOT the story for you.

I have decided I have had more than enough with "Cujo" hanging around.

Today, I took my rifle and just beat the holy shit outta the dog until he lay, broken and battered.  Knocked the fool animal unconscious.  I had been trapped in my house for nearly a week; the dog's constant barking and growling drove me bat crazy.  I had to do something before people started wondering where I was.

I might get charged with animal cruelty, but hell, I don't care.  I had to take desperate measures to get rid of him, even if it meant nearly knocking his goddamned brains out.

To hide my evidence, I buried "Cujo" just a few minutes ago.  I buried his body by the garbage cans.  I also cleaned up the blood and shit from my back porch:  watered it down really good, so no signs that there had been a murder would show.

Now that the cur has finally been taken care (and disposed) of, maybe I can get out of the house without worrying about getting chewed up by a crazy-assed dog who had nothing but revenge on his canine brain.  Don't know why he had to pick me for his target, but he did, and I got sick and tired of it.

My wife doesn't know what I've done, and neither do my children.  The neighbors also don't know about this.  Ain't gonna tell them either.  What I've done is my business, and my business alone; nobody has to know what happened.

I will answer to God about this one day, and I am sure He isn't gonna be pleased.  My life was at stake, and I had to take desperate action.

I don't know whose dog "Cujo" belonged to, but I am going to say this much:  if a dog has nothing but revenge on its mind, then it's time to do something, or else yours truly could end up being its lunch!

Hhhhmmm... me think you could have called the animal control. Heehee!! But then again, it is your story, perhaps you just need to do that for more storytelling.

Feel sorry for Cujo. NO animal deserves that kind of treatment. But in a revenge kind of way, you should do a twist on the 'The Telltale Heart.' You know, this man is sound asleep in his bed after doing the dirty deed, and a low growling or whining starts eminating from the yard ... this man thinks he has problems now, just you wait ... LOL! Well done, Karen.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

In the End: Apocalyptic Poetry by Debra Kraft
