Whenever my wife and I get home from work and the kids get out of school, we make it a point to spend quality time together.
Whether it is reading the Bible, playing a game of Wii, watching family-friendly shows on the television, discussing the days events, or what not, we think it is of much importance to spend time together while we still can.
I find that this mindset has truly helped our family grow closer. We are able to talk to one another in a civil tone, and we have learned so much about one another.
So many families in our society today have grown apart or have sadly become "enstranged"; it's because they have a failure to communicate and don't have much time to do anything because schoolwork or their work takes up most of their time. They don't know how to relax and the children are more apt to get into various kinds of trouble.
Thank God we are not like that.
It also helps that God orchestrates every moment, every decision, every thought that we have. Because of this, we are well grounded, deeply rooted in faith, and count God for the many blessings that He's given us over the years.
If more families could do as we do, then the world would truly be a lot better off. We are a rare breed in today's society and I am rather proud of that fact.
The focus on family time and ideas on how to achieve it is very interesting and admirable. The electronic age is a big part of families today,and these communication tools make family time together appear to be elusive. The Wii and the other methods that were uitilzed by your family to achieve family togetherness are all beneficial tools.
Well done Story Karen...Karla the internet is a tool, as are all the other things we either use them or abuse them, it is up to us to chose what we are going to do!!!
