     A boy checks his p's and q's.

I have to make sure that what I do is conducive to what my parents would expect of me.  It is not easy when there's so much peer pressure around me, but I have to do it or else I could be in deep trouble.

I don't want to live like that.  I have a reputation (and my folks) to worry about.

I'm just glad that I have never done anything like getting drunk or high on drugs or have sex with my girlfriend.  I have always been what is known as a "goodie-two-shoes", or a good kid.  I aim to continue my clean way of living.  There's just too much at stake here: my future goals (military, perhaps even go to college, get married and have a family, etc.), my Christian background (know I will have to answer to God, and I don't want to be guilty of anything that might offend Him; that would not be cool!), and my family.  I don't want them to be disappointed in me.

That would be the worst feeling in the world, to know I royally screwed up and disappointed my family.

Yet I see kids around me who don't think twice of having sex (at times with multiple partners), using drugs, getting drunk, or kids who treat their families like garbage.  I'm sorry; if I did that, I would be missing a FACE and would risk getting grounded (or disciplined big-time) by my parents.  It just makes me sick how kids today just don't care about anything or anybody but themselves!

I'm just glad I have the family I do and am being raised in the church.  Yes, I do have some problems of my own, but compared to what a lot of people are going through, my problems are NOTHING.  Maybe I should just consider myself incredibly blessed because I AM.
