Reporter:
I am currently sitting here at the North Pole, where I am about to interview one of childhood's greatest living legends, none other than the Jolly Old Elf himself, the one and only Santa Claus.
I am about to find out the secret behind his legendary status and his longevity as well as why he rmains so well revered and loved by children all over the world all these years later. Maybe then I can tap into the myth and mystery surrounding this renowned figure of Christmas.

Good evening, Santa Claus. How are you doing?
Santa Claus:
Very well, thank you.
Reporter:
I hope you don't mind my asking you some questions. Is that okay with you, Sir?
Santa Claus (laughing):
Ho, ho, ho! Of course, it's okay! By all means, no! As long as it's about bringing joy and love and laughter to children everywhere, I'm all for it! You may proceed with you interview; I'm all ears! Ho, ho, ho!!
Reporter:
Santa, what is the secret behind your success, and how do you keep yourself so jolly and young-at-heart?
Santa Claus:
Well, a lot of it has to do with magic. Christmas magic, you know. It lives on in my heart, and I live by it, faithfully, every day, but especially at Christmas. It also has to do with love because when it comes to Christmas, love should be at its very center. You know what they say: 'love makes the world go 'round.' And it does!
Reporter:
Oh, I see. (Pauses for several moments)
Okay, then. If love is what Christmas is all about, then how do you explain people being sad or miserable during Christmas, or people acting horribly during the holidays? What about that? What about them?
Santa Claus:
It's because people, as a rule, have forgotten how to love or to BE loved. Because of some circumstances or events in their lives, their hearts have grown hardened and cold, and they soon forget the meaning of Christmas and why it is so important. What they fail to realize is that they are loved as well: I have not forgotten them and I would do anything in my power to bring hope to them, but I am only a mere mortal: I am not God. Only God can do that.
Reporter:
So, Santa, you are saying that you can't solve people's problems; yet so many kids look up to you and believe wholeheartedly in you.
Santa Claus:
Exactly. Only God can fix things. I can try my best to do the same, but I am only one person, and agaIn, I am not God.
Reporter:
So there you have it, folks. Even Santa Claus can't fix the world or stop people from hurting. Who would have ever imagined? Santa has admitted that he is a fraud and a charletain ...
Santa Claus:
Whoa, whoa, there!! Now you hold on a minute there, buster! I did not say that at all!! Are you trying to put words into my mouth or mocking me? Because I happen to know who you are and what you do; you're on my good or naughty list!
Reporter:
Well, I find it difficult to believe that you can go all over the world in one night, delivering presents to all the good little boys and girls, and yet there are kids who still end up with nothing or end up getting what they did not want for Christmas. How do you explain that??
Santa Claus:
As I said, I'm only human. Even I make mistakes. Maybe not so much me, but my elves can and sometimes do. But as I said earlier, I am not perfect, so don't make me look like the bad guy, or else I can stop this interview right now!
