A young girl tells people what she is, what she can do, and what she will do to change people's attitudes about her or others like herself.
I AM:
*A child, aged 10 years;
*Pretty,
*A survivor,
*A sister and a friend to many,
*A twin to my sister, Robyn (she and I are very close!),
*Talented in singing and in playing music,
*A Christian,
*Determined to overcome all odds,
*Free-spirited and very emotional in nature; and
*Disabled.
I CAN:
*Laugh,
*Cry,
*Show others that I care for or love them,
*Write poems or stories,
*Walk (even if it IS with crutches or leg braces!),
*Tell others about the love of Jesus Christ and share with them my testimony and tell others what He has done for me,
*Get mad if the time calls for it (and I TRY not to let this happen TOO often! LOL),
*Get into my mischevious moods (hey, I am just a kid!),
*Navigate and surf on the Internet; and
*Love people for WHO they are, not for WHAT they are on the outside; I try to see what's on the INSIDE of a person first! I can also pray for those who hate me.
I WILL:
*Tell others about Jesus, no matter if they believe in Him or not, and tell them why it is so important to have a Relationship with Him; and what will happen if they DON'T,
*NOT judge or tease others, just because they are "different" or don't believe in the way I happen to,
*NOT let my handicaps stop me from doing what I enjoy most out of life,
*Try to be as good of a friend as I possibly can be, even when people are being ugly or mean,
*Share my God-given talents with others in a positive way and not abuse them,
*Love my family, no matter what we may happen to face,
*NOT do something that someone tells me to do if it makes me feel uncomfortable or if it will get me into trouble,
*Respect my elders and all adults, even if they may be wrong,
*Show compassion towards those who need a helping hand or even just a smile; and
*Support my country and Flag, and realize just how blessed I AM to have been born in America and learn to appreciate and cherish my freedom.
