Mr Cushenan had always been a kind man . He was often treated badly however because of that . It’s sad but true that sometimes bad things happen to nice people .
Instead of Mr Cushenan becoming angry at life , he kept trying his best to be nice to others .He had seen a lot of hardship and had been mistreated by many .
Even his friends and family had abandoned him which allowed him to find God .in a very personal way . Never once had God abandoned him or mistreated him .
He had somehow found a way to manage his hardships and all his disappointments only motivated him to help others because he knew what it was like to be used and abused , he had been disappointed by others and suffered injustices in his life that only opened his eyes to finding a purpose to life that not many would ever begin to understand . He wanted to pursue a way of life in helping others so that his good deeds would bring heavenly blessings into his life .
He always practiced the golden rule of life . You must give before you receive .
So, he lived by in such a way that pursued a heavenly blessing to come into his life and worked for free in charities around the district . During the time he worked there he had got to know lots of people who were in need and made a list of their names and addresses so on Christmas Eve night , he would go off with parcels and leave them outside the doors of some of those poor needy families around the village .
It was always wonderful when heavenly blessings came back to him / Sometimes in a simple was in a smile or a tear , or with a hug or a handshake . Other times the blessing came with money that was donated by people to the charity where he worked with a provision that the money could only be used to help needy people .
During the time he worked in the charity shops he also got to know people who were lonely or sick , confused and demented , even some of the addicted , afflicted and those who had been imprisoned . Every now and then he pays a visit to some of the homeless shelters and the prisons to listen and support in any way he could .
After many years there were times when he wanted to give up pursuing heavenly blessings but there was always a situation that he found that made him keep going but as old age drew near and he was getting weary he decided to seek others to assist him with his pursuit and hopefully offer them the same passage through life .
He wrote a little articled called “ New Hope “ with as brief message outreaching for people to join in the pursuit of heavenly Blessings. . He placed his contact details and pit the article in the local newspaper and on some of the community notice boards around town .
Surprisingly enough he was contact by various people from different professions . There were doctors , masseurs , dentists , councillors , business managers and teachers . So, with all those who responded Mr Cushenan organised a meeting for all to attend the local community hall where he would address the mission of the secret society of new hope .
At that meeting he gave details about the work that was needed and how it would be done be done .
In the passage of time that ensued more recruits came on board and worked for the society without expecting anything in return , Many people who were sick and aged , homeless and hungry , addicted or lonely or lost in despair were helped by the secret society who brought hope into their lives .
After Mr Cushenan passed away his work was continued by members of the secret society who drive around the city in renovated ice cream vans bringing cups of hot soup and sandwiches to the homeless and hungry . Blessings continually arrive mysteriously from unknown sources and those funds have purchased cluster group homes that provide emergency shelter for victims of domestic abuse and young runaways and other innocent victims of circumstance . Food and clothing are distributed to people in need . Tools and equipment are donated by large corporations and businesses by some of the members of the New Hope who frequently are on the phone speaking to managers and executives board members for donations .
The work of the secret society never stops .
It has now become a global society with members joining to provide free of charge New Hope to people in need ,.
