I took a deep breath and waited I knew my daughter was wanting to ask me why we were mourning a man we never knew why someone would shoot him just because his or her skin look different .

I was thinking of a way to explain bigotry to her .

' In the sixties times like these were tougher had then an enemy call the Russians  they had white skin but they talk funny live in another country sometimes it's not easy for anyone too accept that there is someone in fact different then they'd are ,one of our President John F. Kennedy had too a good idea just as President Lincoln did all people are created equal .'

' Things are not easier today father  are they still shooting each other ? ' she asked me looking at me .' We do have a black President now shouldn't the shooting stop now ? '

I tried to explain to her it wasn't primarily guns at fault but it was whoever then was holding the gun there were people like that Charlie Mason told others what too do and as did Adolf Hitler so in fact even that to any one  person holding the gun could be black or white or even that of any us too we could be an American or from another country or race no it's not the fault of the guns entirely to but from those that are using it .'

' You think hate and bigotry will go away completely ? ' she asked .

' I do not know ,' I then thought for the first time her life my own daughter saw me cry ,a tear came down my face .
