I looked into the mirror yesterday and saw three more wrinkles. How did I get this old, this fast? No, it's not really about Elvis leaving the building, but life just seems to be racing at a high rate of speed. My Grandmother used to tell me, "you know, she's not always going to be that cute." I don't remember who she was talking about, because she said it a lot. I think to drive home a point, that inner beauty was more important than the face staring back at you in the mirror. Aging is a natural process. Wrinkles and gray hairseem to come with it. I'm happy I'm no longer sixteen or even twenty. I've learned so much on this journey I've been on. Tomorrow when I find another wrinkle, I'm going to celebrate. My youth has "left the building", I'm hoping it has moved to my heart. My perspective on life has also changed. I'm able to recognize the things that are important and the things I need to let go. Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
