A friend forwarded an email message to me a few days ago. Normally I don't read forwards. I have too many messages to go through, and I just don't take the time to read a forward. However, the message in this particular email was worth reading. I don't know who wrote it, so I can't give credit where it's due, and I can't remember the entire story, only the highlights. Two men were ship wrecked. They were able to swim to a remote island. Each day they stayed on their own section of the island, and prayed. The first man prayed for food, and was abundantly blessed. He then prayed for shelter, and he had a house. Next he prayed for a companion and another ship wrecked and a woman was able to swim to his side of the island. Lastly he prayed for a ship to rescue both he and his wife. They boarded the ship, and were ready to sail away when a voice said, "aren't you going to bring your companion with you?" To which the first man responded, "no, he's not worthy. You didn't answer any of his prayers. Therefore, I think he should be left on this island to fend for himself." But wait, the voice continued. "Everyday that man prayed for you. He prayed, 'Dear Lord, Please answer all his prayers.' Who is praying for you? James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective , fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
