He watched it all from morning to night, from infancy to adulthood. His parents quarreled and then framed their quarrels in large sized pictures that they put up in their home. He became shaky, then disturbed and finally lost all confidence in life, in relationships, in marriage, in society.

Finally when the father proposed a separation, that was long overdue and which he had postponed for the sake of his child, the son felt even more uncertain. How would things shape out after the separation? Even the rattling, quaking, discordant home was something; it was still a home. What would happen after the dilapidated structure was demolished?

Till then he had sometimes wondered whether it was not a better idea for them to separate but now when the moment arrived, he asked the father if he could not wait a little longer as he had been doing for these decades. The father thought again, contemplated for some time and then decided to humour the boy.
