It all started when Cesar Augustus became so greedy for more money, and decided the best way to get it would be to collect more taxes. So, he sent out a decree, that every person over a certain age had to return to their city of birth, to be registered so a census could be taken.This happened while Cyrenius was governor of Syria.

It didn't matter to him that some women was pregnant and the journey would be too much for them. The fact they had to travel on donkey's, along some dangerous roads for days or weeks, didn't phase him one bit. Dead or alive they had to make the journey.

Thats the situation Mary and Joseph found themselves in. The fact they were of the line of David,they had to travel from Galilee out of Nazareth into Judea/ Bethlehem "Now thats far" But for the Grace of God, and his divine plan, they would not have been able to make the journey because Mary was well advanced in her pregnancy.

Now after reaching Bethlehem, Lets look at the selfish Inn-keeper; with so many visitors in town that weekend, all he could see was the almighty dollar ; "Mary and Joseph" didn't look like they had any. So he had no sympathy for this soon to be delivered "young wife "wasn't  there a Doctor or Midwife around"? He is the Innkeeper for heaven sakes; if anyone could find help, he could. Or, better yet, give them the use of his room even just for the night. But no! he sent them down to the stinky, awful smelling Stable, with all the Animals still in there.

If it wasn't for the Grace of God and his Divine plan... Think about it they could have contracted some deceases from all the bacteria in that place. Soon after giving birth, in came Sheppard's straight from the fields to visit him. At least they came to worship him.

Two years later,after he went home, King Herod slaughtered all the boy children in the area trying to destroy the child Jesus. But for the Grace of God...

Luckily Joseph believed in dreams. He had to take a dangerous journey down to Egypt. We weren't told about their stay there; but just imagine a young Jewish family appeared over night in a Egyptian village looking for work and a place to stay.

A few years later he had to take that same dangerous journey back to Nazareth. About his schooling we were never told. But imagine the pain of watching other children going off to school while he worked in his father's carpenter shop.

At twelve years old, he got lost in the city of Jerusalem; for two days he couldn't be found untill finally they found him in the Temple, asking and answering questions. But for the Grace of God he could have been kidnapped or worst. Satan had lost again. From the Garden to the Cross to the Tomb, Satan was still trying to fulfill his agenda. He only gave up after the resurrection and Ascension. In-spite of all his wicked traps, we know that Jesus has over come. And by his grace we can be overcomer's  too.
