I was at a golf resort and watched an elderly gentleman. The events just sort of came into play, but most of them are true .

Country Club

Sitting in the white rocker looking at the cloudy sky the birds are chirping noisily as Louis Armstrong sings overhead and I’m reminded of yesteryear when I was but a lad swinging from a rope jumping into a pond rocking back and forth I look up into the scenic mountains as the music changes to a female singer I can’t recall so I rock back and forth and a man in a golf cart rides by oh Dean Martin, I know that voice I rock in the chair to the rhythm of his voice and watch as another cart goes by and catch the sight of the floral greens so breath taking I smile at the young lady sitting at a nearby table and I take a sip of my drink the smell of freshly cut grass fills my nostrils and the music changes to a jazzy instrumental tune I sit back and remember the little lady and I dancing on our wedding day and she was a sight to behold and here comes the riding lawnmower oh Lulu’s back in town, now that brings back memories I rock back and forth just staring at the mountains ah to be young again. The smile comes slowly across my face the young woman is looking at me does she know what I’m thinking Kids today they don’t know what life was those were the good ole days wow that ball must have went sailing that was quite a hit not too shabby for an old fart yep these youngsters don’t even appreciate the game they don’t know what they’re missing Perry Como now that song will put zing in your step Papa loves Mambo wouldn’t that young lady like to see this old gent get up and cut a rug like I used to back in the day here comes the little lady hi sweetheart yea I was just coming I know the view is fabulous yes it is muffin and I look at the young lady and smile as I follow my life’s love down the steps back to our room and how fitting Louis is belting out it don’t mean a thing if ain’t got that swing I look overhead and smile yep Mr. Armstrong you got that right.
