Little Mouse was all excited about today , because he was going to have a party ,to welcome new friends to his house.
"Oh, I must be quick , I have to clean , sweep, cook, and ,Oh..dear, I have to have party favors and decorations," He said as he scurried around trying to hurry. His little room which was behind the wall, needed a new look.
Little Mouse Swept his floors and placed a nice red tablecloth on his little spool table. He dusted his dresser and prepared veggie soup for his guest.
"Now , all I need is party favors and decorations ," he said as he looked in a box in his corner. Little Mouse was quite a collector. Infact ,you would think he was a pack rat , but really he wasn't.He dug through the little box and pulled out ribbons, pinecones, bows of all colors and he decorated the room very nicely.
He was very proud of his accomplishments.
Little Mouse looked at the clock . It was now 6:30. He waited some more ... It was soon 7:30....then 8:30 .... No one had come to his party!
Finally at 9:oclock, he realized that he was missing the main ingredient at a party.
"Oh, my.....how silly of me , heehee.. I forgot to invite my guest !"
he said to himself .He had been so busy getting everything ready , that it totally slipped his mind.
"I suppose , I can have a party some other time ..."
he stated as he put eveything away.
He sat down and had a nice bowl of soup , then laid down in his little tin can.
"Ahhhh..., I'm just too tired now to think about parties ," he said as he fell fast asleep on his little feather pillow.
