Bubbled-Eyed Green Alien by Mary Jo Prado

Kevin's mom is always catching him.She always tells him that she has eyes all over her him and then the unthinkable happens. Kevin watches through the pantry doors as shaking in his shoes at what he is about to see.
Kevin's mouth fell open as he peered through the slanted openings of the kitchen's pantry door. He tried hard not to make a sound as he nervously watched his Mom. Perspiration dripped from his forehead and ran into his eyes causing his vision to blur. He shook in his shoes as Mom and the bubbled-eyed green head creature spoke. He always thought there was something a bit odd about Mom. She always acted so weird, and spoke a strange gibberish he never heard before. What is she doing? Mom would catch him snitching cookies from the cookies jar but he did not know how she did it. He believed she had some kind of sixth sense or something. Mom always made silly jokes and he imagined it was just another one of her silly pranks. Kevin watched in horror as Mom peeled the slimy, prickly green skin away from her face. She rolled it up over her face and lifted it over her head tossing it to the checkered floor. Kevin left out an audible gasp.
"Oh my gosh, it's true !" His Mom did have eyes all over her head. Not just one set but three sets of eyes all around her head! Kevin could not believe his eyes.
Mom looked just like the other bubbled- eyed creature that she was talking to. Mom was forever telling him she had eyes in the back of her head but he never believed her.
The creature turned to Mom and said, "The spaceship is ready to leave, it's time to go." Her eyes gazed around the room. She walked over in Kevin's direction, her eyes bobbing all over her slimy green head. Kevin's legs shook. What am I going to do? Scared that Mom had discovered him, he carefully knelt down on the floor. Kevin tried to stay very still but he was trembling so hard he was afraid she would hear his bones rattling. Closer and closer, she walked until she was standing in front of the pantry doors. Kevin saw her peering through the slots, pressing her slimy green face against the door.
"You didn't listen to me; I told you I had eyes all over my head!" Mom said followed by an eerie scary kind of laugh.
