The ocean is not just for whales alone and so they all had to learn about some of the other creatures who lived in the sea and what their roles were .
Every creature had as specific job to do .The greedy feeder sharks are in charge of ocean depopulation and also work in ocean security with the dolphins who do frequent sea patrols to maintain underwater law and order .
The clams are the water cleaning controllers, then some of the whales do the food cycling and nitrogen building as well as maintaining the coral floral displays .
Octopuses are the coral reef builders and sea bed cleaners , the Octopuses are also the coral reef and habitat builders . They have created gardens that are being maintained by a sea garden crew , consisting of crabs , sea snakes , snails and limpets. Then there is lthe happy enrichment team consisting of whales and other sea mammals who keep a positive energy afloat around the oceans .Before the commence work every sea creature had to go to school to learn how to keep the ecosystem in balance and get some skills that they would require in the roles they have to play .
Well today was the day for school to begin and Wally the whale was eager to start school so he could learn what he had to do and get the skills required to do the job .
Wally was very happy to be at Big Pond school and had already met some of the other sea creatures who also were starting school on the same day as him . As the whales are so big they occupied a huge area in the Big Pond Academy , Apart from Wally there were many other whales starting school and as huge as they were , they had to learn how to fit in with the rest of the crowd . So the newbies had a very busy day at Big Pond School . The wonder of it all with all the different species of sea creatures who were all waiting to have their name called out in the Big Pond School playground .
Wally realised that this was the place where he belonged ,
He learnt a new song sing in his class where they found time to breath below the foam and during the day there was plenty of breaks for basking and water spouting and Wally was a fast learner .
Already on his first day Wally had discovered how to arrange waves in rows and how to speak to the sky using high pitched singing . It wasn’t all about learning things at school as the sea school teachers regulated some time for fun and play as well .
Wally was shown how to do a big deep sea dive and he loved the way it made him feel alive . After exhaling all of his breath in a swift moment his entire body started to bomb down deeper in the ocean at a fast rate . Swooping down with his head down like a torpedo sweeping faster and fast until it was time to return to the top for a breath of fresh air . As soon as Wally surfaced and took big deep breath a group of seagulls were taken by surprise . One of them said with a quake in its throat ,
“Thank God whales can't fly “
After school finished everyday there was the regular pick up time ritual when the Mums and Dads of all the young Whales collected them outside the underwater school gate There was such excitement at the gate after school each day .
as an old bell on a sunken pirate ship was rang and the whales came to the gate one by one where many of the parents were waiting for their little darling to come .
The big pond whale community were all happy to be where they were , free to roam the ocean and free to be part of the underwater world .
As school was over all the Mums and Dads were being told all about the days activities at school ,
Wally was talking non stop all the way home telling his Mum and Dad about everything that happened at school ,
“I did a deep sea dive today and everyone was so amazed at how long I could swim without taking a breath . Its all about learning to floating down stream, you could say once you let all your breath go , its like you’re floating on a down stream current that takes you deeper and deeper and some of the things I saw down there , I’ve never seen seem before , some birds on the surface said , they were glad I didn’t fly and.
diving is like a natural thing anyway , so I’m glad I can’t fly anyway cause it would make me too nervous . Guess what , you know dolphins , well they can scream and they can also jump out of the ocean like a silver dart , they go slicing through the surface on top of the oceans and they’re so fast , we tried to catch them , but there;s no way we could keep us with them . They are amazing , so we tried to scream like they do and we sang a song as we did some water spouting games to see who could be the highest . The teachers keep on saying all day , big days for little whales so don’t rock the boat . They’re so funny Mummy and Daddy . Going to school is lots of fun . We learn and play and discover how to be small in a big world and how to find our way in the ocean where there are lots of buried treasures to find .
Wally never stopped to take a breath during the entire time he was explaining about his day at school . His parents just quietly listened to every word that was said and when they got home they had some food before lying down on the sea bed and falling fast asleep

I heard bad news again today. It appears that the acidity level of seawater in the oceans has increased 40% since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Acid affects many sea creatures, food for whales and other species like dolphins and sharks. Top predators like sharks and sailfish, are filled with mercury and dangerous to eat. But people do, anyway.
