     A nightmare

Puppet Master 2 (1991)

 What do I see

as I wake from sleep?

A puppet watching me.

It creaks.

It groans.

Its head spins.

It can’t be real.

It’s a wooden puppet.

No one pulls its strings.

It speaks

in a deep voice.

It can’t be alive.

It says,

“Time to play.”

I run to the door.

It can’t be.

It stands before me,

taller than me.

It can’t be.

But it is.

It’s alive.

Hi Susanne, most of us can recall the terrors of childhood.
I sure can. I was overly sensitive and imaginative child with
many a vision of fright. When I was little I used to see cowboys
hanging off my curtains. Terror ! You always manage to make my spine tingle with your scary poems. Thinking of you, hope all is well, have a great day, and don't let fear keep us apart. (the title to a song)
be well. xo

In the End: Apocalyptic Poetry by Debra Kraft

In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into
