This is a good-bye letter to my nephew, Brendon.
I know now that war is Hell, not only to the soldiers, but also their family''s. To me Brendon was what I would call a unique character. He marched to his own beat. He was never a rough and tumble, looking for a fight, Marine. He would do anything he could to help someone in need out. There in his still beating heart, Brendon''s family always came first. His favorite music group was Rush. I remember how you use to call home every Saturday night, telling about the hardships you soldiers went through in that ungodly desert. Being a tank gunner, I know you seen a lot of death and destruction. I know that messed your mind up, we all knew. I''m sorry no one was with you in tour darkest hour. I''m sad that you felt the need to end your life at the tender age of 25. why didn''t you cry out for help? None of this seems real to me! But I know at some point in time, we shall all be together again. For a person''s spirit never dies. We will meet again, all of us, one by one... somewhere. love you, uncle Bob-
