Dear Louisiana Sandusky~
Thank you for taking the time to write back to me; it is so nice to hear from you!
Thank you, too, for telling me about your beautiful family! ONLY 50 kids, you say?? You either have to have an awful lot of love in your heart, or else, you are just plumb crazy! LOL I don't know HOW you do it! I have enough challenges with just SIX kids; I can't IMAGINE trying to raise a family of FIFTY! WOW!! LOL
You have GOT to send me a picture of your family; this is something I have GOT to see!
My kids were surprised to learn that you had 50 kids, but my daughter, Magdelina, made me laugh just now. She said maybe you adopted one kid for each state in America, and I laughed, and I told her that some of Louisiana's kids did not come from America; some came from foreign countries such as Africa, Vietnam, Korea, Iran, and Germany; and she said, "Oh." (Her exact answer!) She seemed a bit disappointed for some reason! LOL
Today is a slow day; the kids are trying to be quiet because Mama (me) has a bit of a headache. I get migraine headaches from time to time, and sometimes the pain gets so bad I get sick or worse, I pass out. That is when my husband comse in; he is a great help to me and the kids, especially when I am sick or am not feeling my best. But other than these darn headaches, I am in good health; it is something that runs on my side of the family, these migraine headaches. My mother had them, and so did my grandma; and it seems that I got them too. It is something I have had to learn to cope and live with, and I have my bad days, as well as my good days. I am sure you have your bad days, as opposed to good days, when it comes to YOUR health! But today is not too bad of a day; my headache IS annoying, but at least I am not that nauseated, and I don't feel like I have to pass out; so that is a very good thing!
Your one daughter, Ronee', sounds like a charmer. So she sings for a living...that is great! She must be very good if she is performing at festivals and fairs and stuff! Has she ever been on television? Does she have any records out? If so, where could I get a copy of her CD, and has she ever had her recordings played on the radio? I like country music myself (that and Mexican; after all, I AM Hispanic, and I grew up with Mexican music! LOL); my favorite singer is Faith Hill, and I also like Loretta Lynn. (Some combination, hunh? LOL I also like Reba McEntire and Trisha Yearwood. On the male side of things, I like Tim McGraw; he is so finnnnnnnnnnne...Sorry about that; if my husband, Hildago, ever sees that, he'd get mad for sure! LOL He is jealous of Tim McGraw for some strange reason...maybe it's because he isn't as good looking as Tim; I don't know, but whenever he sees a picture of Tim McGraw, he gets shaking mad, and he wants to punch his face in! LOL He is NOT a fan of Tim McGraw, as you can very well imagine!)
You say that a lot of your kids are disabled. What exactly are their disabilities? You know I have a son with CP, plus one (a daughter) who is deaf and mute, and one (a son) who has spina bifida, and another one (a daughter) who has a rare chromosomal disorder, and a son (our baby) who has severe asthma and allergies, as well as a daughter who was born blind; but despite their disabilities, they are all beautiful and loving kids who tend to bring out the best in people whenever they see them. I can't imagine our lives without them, and both Hildago and myself have grown to love our children so very much!
What faith are you? I am Christian, but I am a devout Roman Catholic. I have always been Catholic, and it has been a comfort to me and my family. I go to St. Peter's Catholic Church here in Del Rio, Texas, and I am also one of the catechism teachers here at the Catholic school not far from our church. I teach a few days a week, as a substitute teacher, and it is a good chance for me to get out of the house for a few hours and earn some extra money. But when my head bothers me or if I am sick, I don't work. It all depends on how I feel. If I am feeling good, and my head doesn't hurt too badly, I work, but if I am sick, I stay home. It's that simple. My husband, Hildago, doesn't work, as he is on full disability: he has serious back problems, and he has had back surgery three times; but it didn't seem to do very much good. He is in as much pain now as he was prior to having the surgery, and it is so hard for him to get around at times. He uses a scooter for longer trips, but for shorter trips, he uses two canes to take some of the pressure off his back. He has spurs in his spine, and they cause him great pain. He also has degenerative disc disease and arthritis in his back, and even though he is only 40, he walks more like an 80-year-old senior citizen. But he is still a very happy man, despite his ongoing pain, and I love him with all my heart! I couldn't have asked for a better husband!
Well, Louisiana, I will write more next time. Thank you for writing to me, and thank you for wanting to be my friend. I could use a good friend about now; today is one of those days where I am hurting, and I am somewhat depressed. I wish I could get some relief from the pain in my head, but nothing seems to work, and it is really frustrating. The doctors say I am crazy in the head, but they don't kow of the pain I am experiencing, and I wish they could have a piece of it, just so they know how my head feels! It is really maddening!! There is nothing worst then having headache's that cannot be detected or helped by modern medicine. I use to have a lot of them but I don't anymore, thank goodness. Wonderful write.
