Louisiana writes her Inuk friend in Alaska a letter, her third.

Dear Sikik:
Hello to Alaska from Tennessee! This is your friend, Louisiana; hope this finds you well and happy!
I am feeling much better; thanks for asking. I am just about recovered from my sinus infection; and I am happy to report that my migraine headache is now a not so pleasant memory. It was so bad I was throwing up from the pain; this is one of the reasons why doctors call migraine headaches "sick headaches" because the pain can get so severe it can literally make one sick. Which was what happened to me.
It was good to get your letter; it made me smile. It is always good to hear from you, and I am glad that you and your family are well and thriving! We are all doing well, and yesterday, I had a very pleasant and quiet day to myself. My husband (Bill) took the children to the zoo for an all-day excursion; it was "Special Needs Day" at the Nashville Zoo; all kids with disabilities got in for free, as did anyone who was disabled; which was a very nice thing, really. During the day, the kids looked at the animals, and they had games, contests, and free pizza, chips, and Cokes. They also had face-painting, and they had live music and clowns; it was a fun time had by all, according to Bill. It was also a fun time for ME because I was able to get just about caught up on my emails; and yours is the last letter I have to answer before I am FINALLY all caught up! YAYYYYYY!!! LOL
I heard from a lady in southwest Texas; she has six kids who are adopted, and she wrote to me after she read an article in her local paper about our family. She said that she felt compelled to write to me upon reading the article, and she wrote to me a very nice letter; and I was more than happy to write to her. As I said, she has six kids, and all are disabled in one way or another, but she sounds like a very loving and caring mother. She has three girls and three boys, and they range in age from three on up to 13. She works as a substitute Catechism teacher (she is Catholic), and her husband, Hildago, can't work, as he is disabled with severe back problems and has had surgery several times (but it didn't seem to do much good). The woman's name is Diane Renee' Aguilar, and she seems like a very interesting person.
I loved the picture you put on your last letter of the Anchorage city scene; it makes me miss Alaska! As you know, I have a good friend in both Jenna Aurora Whitson and her fiance, Michael Doucet, and thay live in Anchorage. I know you have met them before. They are both wonderful people, aren't they? Poor Jenna has had a rough road to hoe lately with her health lately, but I am so happy to hear that she is FINALLY getting back on her feet and is now doing much better! I miss both Jenna and Michael, and I can't wait until I see them again!
Has the weather cooled off any up there in Alaska? Here it has been rainy and cool, cooler than normal; but I can't complain. The hot weather really doesn't bother me because I am from Louisiana, and in Louisiana, it can get mighty hot, especially during the summertime! I am USED to heat! LOL I know you probably wouldn't like Louisiana, but it's where I was raised, and if I could go back there again to live, I would do so, in a heartbeat; but the heat about kills my husband; so this is why we live in Tennessee! He also doesn't like all the biting bugs in Louisiana, and he hates the weather there, but if we DO go to Louisiana, he will go with me, just as long as he knows that we will go back to Tennessee after we are done visiting!
Tomorrow, we are planning to go to the local library, and the kids are planning on getting some books about Alaska and the Inuit. For some reason, your letters have prompted a sudden interest in Alaska and the Inuit culture, and they also want to go to Alaska. Now, Ronee' and Johnny have ALREADY been TO Alaska, but they are already counting the days to where they can go back TO Alaska, and they want to go back again as soon as possible. Ronee' still has the Inuk doll that she got at an Inuit festival we went to, and it is one of her most prized dolls. (She has a doll collection; she collects porcelain dolls, and she keeps them in a display case in her room. She has ten dolls so far, but her favorite two are probably the Maasai doll and the Inuk doll.) She also has an Inuit-style parka, mukluks, gloves, and pants, and she will most certainly wear her outfit during very cold days during the upcoming winter! She looks just like a small Inuk girl in her parka, gloves, mukluks, and pants! They also want to get some books about the Northern Lights, and they would love to go to Alaska during "northern light season", so they can see the Northern Lights in all their Glory!
Well, Sikik, you take care, and write when you can. I have to hook up Jodie to her feeding tube; it is time for her "lunch", and it is also time to change her. She messed up in her diapers again, and she is starting to smell pretty strong now. I can smell her, and I think it is high time I do something about it before she becomes upset or uncomfortable! P.S.: Did you notice the picture I used for this letter? I could have put a picture of Loretta Lynn or the Nashville, TN., skyline, as I have done in past letters, but I decided to use a picture of the Northern Lights, as I got to thinking about Alaska, and I got a bit teary-eyed. I miss Alaska, and I can't wait until I return to her majestic beauty! Thought you would appreciate the gesture! :)
