Ronee' is a little bummed out: on Tuesday, she goes back to school after having an exciting and fun-filled summer.
I wish it weren't true ; but in only two days, I have to go back to school! I will be starting the sixth grade, and this will be my last year at Eastview Elementary.
Hi! This is Ronee'. I normally love school, but this time around, I am very scared because there will be a lot of new kids there, and I am afraid that I will get teased about having a chest now, and also about my being short. I am 11 1/2 now, but I look more like an eight- to nine- year-old kid, and at times, I am embarrassed that I am littler than a lot of the kids in my grade! I am also afraid that the boys will try to snap my bra or make disGUSTing comments about my body, and I am afraid what they will say to me when they see my busted arm!
I didn't break my arm on purpose; I was just clumbsy, and I happened to break it when I accidentally fell while going down the steps when I was going out to play about a month ago; and I still have at least two more weeks to go before I get this stupid thing taken off my arm! My arm no longer hurts, I am glad to say, but it has been nothing but a big inconvenience for me, and I hate depending on others to carry my stuff or push my chair because I can't do it myself! I would use my crutches, like I usually do, but it's kind of hard using crutches when I have a busted paw, and I have to do just about everything one-handed! It's also difficult because the hand I broke is the one I write with, and do you know how hard it is trying to write with your opposite hand? T'ain't easy, McGee! :(
And I know people'll be asking me how I broke my arm, and frankly, I am getting tired of telling everyone how I did it! This whole business with my busted arm and my cast is getting old, and I wish it'd hurry up and heal, so I can get the stupid thing taken off my stupid arm, so I can get back to using my sticks! My bum is sore from sitting in my wheelchair, and I am tired of having people push me around..LITERALLY!
I also get a new teacher the day after tomorrow, and this time it's a he. I have never had a male teacher before, and I am kind of nervous about THAT. My new teacher's name will be Mr. Gee, and I hear from various sources that he is tough. I do hope I will do well in his class; otherwise, I am sunk, and my record of good grades will then be history! I don't know what I would do if I got a C or even a D, and I can't imagine what my folks would do if I got an F! I know one thing, though: my little Cajun butt would be grass, that is for true !!

all kids feel nervous, but ronee will be fine. :) as long as she has the support of her family (and she's got a loooooooooooooot of family LOL) and a positive attitude, she'll shine!
