Louisiana Sandusky writes her friend in Soulsbysville, California, a letter after Kendra has emailed her.

Dear Kendra~
Thank you so much for writing; it is good to hear from you again! Glad this finds you well and happy, and glad the girls are doing well, too! My kids are all fine, and we will be going to church in about two and a half hours, so I have time to write to you. We always get so much out of church; and tonight we are having a special speaker come to speak to our congregation. The man in question is a pastor who happens to have cerebral palsy, and his name is David Ring. He has written a few books, and he speaks all over the country, sharing his testimony and preaching the Word. 'Tis should be good; we are really looking forward to it! I will let you know how the special presentation went the next time I write!
Have you heard of David Ring? We first saw him on the Christian channel, and we were really impressed by his moving story and his geniality! Such an inspiring young man! We had been wanting to see him ever since we first saw him on television, and now, tonight, we will finally get that chance!
Sounds like your weather is screwy-lewy (as my hubby says! LOL); it sounds like Nashville at times. One minute it can be beautiful, with pleasant temps and sunny skies, and the next we are baking in 100 degree heat, and the next day, it could be cooler with highs in the 60's and thunderstorms about! Hope that the weather cools off soon! (Now, the 90-degree heat doesn't bother me, as I am a Cajun--I am USED to heat; I was born in LOUISIANA, for gosh sakes! LOL--, but it IS nice whenever the weather cools after a particularly hot spell!) Here's hoping the weather turns more pleasant for you there in Soulsbysville! (Well, at least, you can take the girls swimming! That'd be one way to cool off!)
I hope you can go to the Sesquitennial. That'd be one way to beat the heat; you can take the girls to listen to some speeches or music or eat ice cream! Anything to get out of the house! We aren't really doing anything tonight excepting to go to church and listen to David Ring preach and share his testimony! Of course, Ronee' will sing during the worship services prior to David Ring's speaking to the congregation, and even Johnny will be involved. He will be helping the sign language interpreter with the signing during the entire service, and he really enjoys doing this! Of course, "Ginger" will be there, right along beside him, and people will no doubt be going "AWWWWWWWWW!" when they see this adorable little blonde-haired kid in a wheelchair and his "bestest" buddy!
I read a story today in the paper that made me cry. This woman, an African-American in her 30's, was left severely facially disfigured after her boyfriend shot her in the face, leaving a gaping hole in the middle of her face (she has no nose, only one good working eye, and part of her mouth is missing; she has a big, gaping hole where her face should have been) and relying on a trache tube in order to breathe/speak. She is also tube-fed because due to the damage to her face, she is unable to eat as most people do, by way of mouth. She is often met with stares or rude comments from people, and she is unable to work (she is on full disability); but she is a Christian of strong faith, and she is bound and determined to get over what has happened to her and try to rebuild her life. (Eventually she may have her face rebuilt or be fit with a prosthesis so she could look more "normal", but so far, people haven't made any offers to help her, which I think is a downright shame!) Her boyfriend is now in jail, and if he is charged with the crime in the upcoming trial, he could be sentenced to life in prison or even murder since he attempted to kill her in the first place. (The woman lives in Texas, and the story was in our paper; and it really moved me to the point of tears! I just can't imagine how she must live her life, and how she can go on after her life was so brutally changed. [In addition to her severely disfigured face, she must also live with the fact that her mother was murdered by this same guy, and that no matter what she may do in life, her life will never be as it was prior to her getting shot in the face like that!]) I will save the article; and if I ever find out this woman's address, I plan on writing to her and offer her some encouragement and prayers. It sounds like she could really use a friend or a helping hand!
Have you heard anything about the little girl you are going to adopt from Japan? How old is she, and what is her name? I do hope it goes through; you are a good mama to the twelve little girls you already have, and they really dote on you! I think you are really special, and I am glad to call you one of my dearest friends! You are always there in times of trouble, and even though you usually can't be here with me physically, I still feel your love and prayers whenever you pray for me or my family, and I wanted to let you know just how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness and your support! I only hope that I can be the good friend to you that you are to me!
Well, dear Kendra, I will write later; I have a few more emails to answer before we leave for church tonight; and I want to get them answered! I will write more next time! Until I hear from you again, you take care, and God bless you and your family always! Also give Louisa Mason and her brood our love, and tell her that we have her on our prayer chain at Christ Community Assembly of God Church; and that we lifted her up in prayer this morning prior to our morning services! I hope she feels better soon! I know how it is when one doesn't feel good; it isn't any fun to be sick! (I had a sinus infection earlier in the summer that liked to have KILLED me! But I am glad to say that I haven't had any more problems with my sinuses, now that I have a good medication that I can take before it gets to be too bad!)
