Ths Sanduskys are busy at the fair, whether it be testing the rides on the midway, looking at exhibits, listening to music, or eating fair food. This is father Bill's fair entry.
It has only been one day, but I feel like I have been here for over a week now!
The Tennessee State Fair is in full swing, and we are here, waiting for the midway to open, so I can turn the kids loose on the rides (and get them out of their mama's and my hair!) and have some peace and quiet! Not really; the kids are not *THAT* bad, but trying to raise over 40 kids and trying to keep them calm in an environment guaranteed to stimulate their already overloaded senses is *NOT* the easiest thing in the world! It seems that carny rides, the tempting smells of fair food, and kids go hand in hand, and the kids can't wait to spend a goodly part of their day riding the rides!
This is Bill. I am sitting here, with my wife, Louie, and the kids at the picnic pavilion, just whiling away the minutes (the rides are scheduled to open in only about a half hour; I think I can handle the kids' excitement for now...LOL). After the kids are turned loose on the rides (they will meet us here at 1 for lunch; then they will go back to the rides until 5, which is when we will see Alan Jackson later in the evening, to cap off a perfect day spent at the fair), then Louie, myself, Johnny, Todd, and Jodie (small victims of malfunctioning circuitry in their bodies) will then look at the farm animals and then see a show or two. We will then eat at 1, when we will meet the kids back here before we turn them loose yet again.
The weather today is a little patchy: partly cloudy (or partly sunny, if you're an optimist!), and temps now in the upper 50's to near 60 degrees (the projected high today is near 80 degrees), really delightful weather for the fair. We couldn't have asked for better weather for the fair!
Today's scheduled entertainment includes Alan Jackson tonight at 7:30 at the main grandstand, and also "Star Search" junior vocal champion, young Tiffany Evans, who is scheduled at 2. While most of the kids will be riding the rides during Tiffany's performance, Louie, myself, Todd, Jodie, and Johnny will see her singing. Maybe Ronee' will decide to join us when she hears that Tiffany Evans will be performing. She just loves her! But then after Tiffany gets done, she will no doubt, go back to riding the rides. Honestly, I don't know how she can keep going like that. If I were Ronee', I'd be so sick and so dizzy I wouldn't know which end was up, and I wouldn't be able to stand without falling over every few minutes! I think Ronee' must enjoy the sensation of being dizzy...
I am enjoying my time off from work; there is nothing better than spending a weekend with your family doing family-oriented things and spending quality time with your kids. We try to do that with our kids; but it isn't always feasible, especially if we are scheduled to work during part or all of the weekend! (Louie and I both get Sunday off--due to our going to church--, but I work a few Saturdays a month at Wal*Mart; but Louie is off most Saturdays. She maybe works one Saturday a month while I work two or even three.)
I or someone else will write later; I am getting ready to eat; I am starving! We will get the kids something light before they go on the rides; they need to keep their energy levels up. There's nothing worse than a pack of tired, whiny, cranky kids who are also hungry! God knows we DON'T need THAT! It will be enough of a challenge for them to try to stick together or get to the pavilion during the appointed meeting time! Until the next fair report, this is Bill signing off!

I love how you totally have different "voices" for each of these characters!
Karen you sure know a lot about fairs now!;-) When you
return from yours it will be a delight to read your stories ,
because I know how full of excitement you get!Take care,
