Jodie offers her views about the fair, where her family is spending a fun-filled day. She types this on her word-board via her head pointer that she wears to hit the keys on the computer. She can't talk much verbally, so this helps her to communicate better.
We are at fair. Fair crowded with many people, many exciting things to look at, I enjoy seeing the animals and rides.
This is Jodie. I don't ride rides, too scary, they make me cry. The only ride I go on is the merry go round; I go with mama and daddy, who hold me.
I am eating my "lunch"; I am really enjoying myself at the fair. I am with my family, they ride rides, but mama, daddy, Todd, and Johnny don't. Neither does Debby. I don't ride anything but the merry go round.
After lunch, we will look at more things. See cars, animals, artsy things, blankets and things people make with their hands. Something I can't do. My hands don't work right, my body don't work right, so I don't do many things. But I can laugh and still have fun! I love going out with my family, and I love the fair. The fair makes me happy, and I love the clowns and balloons!
I see several clowns already at big building where artsy things are at. They see me in my wheelchair, give me hugs, and tie balloons to the back of my wheelchair. They make funny faces, and I laugh! I also see clowns at animal places, and I think the little animals are so cute! I want to take one home!
I also watch rides, but the rides are too scary. I know if I go on them I'd fall out or else I'd get sick on someone. So I don't go on. I still enjoy watching the people on the rides, I like to hear them yell and scream! My favorite ride to watch is the ferris wheel. The ferris wheel go round and round, and when people are at the top, they touch the sky. I went on ferris wheel once, but did not like it: the seat rocked, and I was afraid I would fall out; but I didn't. Still, it scared me, and I cried and cried til they got me off. I never was so happy to be out of that thing and back in my wheelchair! Ever since, I don't ride the ferris wheel. As I said, the only ride I ride is the merry go round, the music makes me laugh, and I love the horsies and having mama and daddy with me!
I gotta go now. I have to have my diaper changed, think I did a doodoo in my diapers. Ewww, STINKY! Bye!
It is much safer to watch the big rides...and settle for the less adventurous entertainment methinks too...Karen
I don't believe in going out on a limb...hee hee..
