Louisiana finally gets around to answering her friend in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who sent her an email about two weeks ago.

Bonjour, mon ami Cadjinne! Comment ca-vas, hein? J'suis tres bon, merci beaucoup!
I am so sorry for not writing sooner; I have been unbelievably busy, what with work, raising our village LOL, and getting ready for the holidays. We are going to have a housefull for Thanksgiving: our oldest daughters (two live out of state, two live close by us here in Nashville) are coming home, and we are also having friends from Alaska, Texas, and California coming for Thanksgiving. We will have at least 100 people at our house; we are planning on going out to eat because there is NO WAY I can possibly cook for THAT many people unless I have some MAJOR help! We are going to the Golden Corral Restaurant that day; they are going to be open from 10 to 4 that day. Let someone else do the cooking for a change~! Now I don't know what Golden Corral will think about having a party of 100 that day, but oh, well....at least they know about it by now! LOL
Thank you so much for writing; it was soo good to hear from you! I hope this finds you and Kenny and your family well; your Aurora is a beautiful little girl! She has such a sweet little face! She is absolutely precious! I will send you some pictures of our family soon; we have to get our digital camera fixed. Right now it's broken, and it's in the shop; as soon as it is repaired and we get it back, we will send you some pictures of our family; and that is a PROMISE! In the meantime, I will send you a copy of my book, "A Family Made out of Rainbows and Miracles", I think you may enjoy reading it! It has lots of pictures throughout the book, and I really enjoyed working on it. I just sent the manuscript for my second book, which is about nursing, and I am waiting to hear from the publisher. Hopefully I will have another book to my name! My daughter, Ronee', is also a writer: she has a book out too, called "People Say No, But God Says Yes!: My Story of Hope and Healing", and it is about her life. She wrote it earlier this year, and it just was published a few months back; and she was so excited to hear that she was published! So was I! So now there are two writers in our family, and there may be more in the offing: Bill and my son, Johnny, are also getting the writing bug, and they want to start working on a book, too! So you may hear the names of Bill and Johnny Sandusky in the bookstores before too long!
The Tennessee State Fair is now (thankfully) overwith and done for another year. We were there just about every day. We didn't work there, per se, but we DID spend a lot of time there because the kids wanted to ride the midway rides (okay, MOST of them, anyway!), and there were a lot of good concerts scheduled. We saw Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Toby Keith, Tanya Tucker, Alan Jackson, Tiffany Evans (young singer who was on "Star Search" last year; she is only 11 and has a knockout, powerful voice for such a little thing; she won the whole thing too and just recently released her debut album!), and others. We were there most of the 17 days it was going on, and we were so tired by the time it ended; all we wanted to do was SLEEP! (We did; we ended up sleeping as long as 12 hours for a few days after we finally got home!)
I read just about anything, as long as it isn't full of filth or those trashy romance novels. But I mainly read Christian based books, and I read true -to-life stories. I love the book you mentioned ("Hugo and Josephine" by Maria Gripe); I read that too as a child, and it was one of my favorites. I still enjoy it from time to time. I also read cookbooks (hey, I am a CAJUN; I LOVE to cook, and Cajuns are known for their zesty cooking!), and I read nature-based books, too. Seems like you and I have similar reading tastes, hunh? LOL
I haven't met Louise Mason yet, but I HAVE met Kendra Williams and her girls. I met them in September, when AASK (Aid To The Adoption of Special Kids) had a picnic/adoption seminar here in Nashville, and families came from as far away as Canada, California, and Alaska; and this was how I met Kendra Williams and her girls. They were all sweet, and it seems that the one daughter (Anna Grace) hit it right off with my Ronee'; now it seems that little Anna Grace (she is originally from Africa) can't stop talking about her buddy, Ronee'! She is so excited at knowing that she will see Ronee' for Thanksgiving; and we are looking forward to seeing them again, as well! Speaking of Kendra, they are in the plans of adding another girl to their family: a little girl from Japan! Isn't that wonderful?? Pray that this comes to pass; they deserve it! Such a loving mama she is! And her children are all lovely young ladies! I just love them all! I have written to Louisa Mason a few times, but lately she has been having trouble with her MD acting up (she has the Becker's form of muscular dystrophy, and she is in a wheelchair a lot of the time; her one daughter, Aerial, has it too, and she was just recently diagnosed; poor Louisa is having a rough time of it lately! Please keep her in your prayers!). I know what she and her family looks like (they sent a video tape), but I haven't met her on a personal basis. Hopefully this will change, soon. I would really like to meet her. (She and Kendra have been good friends for nearly 20 years now! Kendra told her about us, and she wrote back; and now we have been writing ever since.)
I heard from Kendra yesterday (already have answered her email!), and she is doing well. That is good to know; they are really excited about coming to Tennessee for Thanksgiving! And they may come for Christmas, too! Great stuff to hear! God is certainly working marvelous miracles in all our lives! (Hope it lasts!)
I pray your girls are well, and I pray you or Kenny don't get sick. We certainly DON'T need THAT!
Well, dear Rosie, I will let you go; I have to get back to my lunch; I am on break, and I only have maybe ten minutes left. So before my lunch gets cold, I had better eat it so I can get back to work when breaktime ends in less than ten minutes! I will write again soon; be expecting a package from me soon (it'll be a copy of my book, and also a copy of my daughter's book!)! Be on the look out for it! Was talking to an American Airlines pilot who was from Louisiana while in London earlier this week so this caught my eye somewhat...and I'm glad that it did. Once again, writing from the heart for those who cannot speak for themselves. Well done Karen
