Dear Journal~
Jambo! Habari gani? M'zuri sana, asante sana!
This is M'Buti writing. I am sorry since I haven't written in my journal since before Halloween, but I have been busy! Plus I have some big news, of which I shall share later~
I was working, but now I am on sick leave. No, I am not in hospital, nor am I dying: I happen to be pregnant, and my boss doesn't want me risking my health or the baby's...I found out that I was pregnant about a month ago, and I have been so sick every morning! I knew something was wrong when I kept vomiting every day; when Roberto took me to the doctor's, he found out that I was pregnant. I am about three months' pregnant now, but I am already showing, and I am afraid that I may have an ELEPHANT...my stomach is HUGE!! I am really gettng fat...I have to spend a lot of time in bed, and I can't do a lot of heavy work, for fear it may hurt me or the baby...
So it looks like there will be another Sormiento in the family...and little Jubaki, Eshe', and Kibarake will be big brothers (and sister) to the new little one! I can hardly handle the three children I have now (Jubaki is six, and the twins, they will be three in February, on the 14th): they are all so active, and they wear me out!
Roberto, of course, is estatic at the news: he is walking around, like a proud Maasai warrior, with his chest pooched out, and looking all happy. Me, I am getting used to the idea of being pregnant yet again; I just hope that this time it is only one baby...having two babies at once, and trying to care for them, is next to IMPOSSIBLE at times! And of course, my brothers back in Africa, Keserian and Naiser, are thrilled too: they call every day, asking how the "little mama to be" (ME!) is doing, and if we want them to come from Kenya to help out! (They are coming for Christmas, so you know they will be spoiling me; they probably won't let me lift a finger!)
Oh! I just had a horrible thought...what if it's THREE babies at once...or MORE?? What am I going to do, and HOW in the WORLD am I going to take care of them when I already have three NOW???
Roberto has been a good husband and daddy: he is taking care of the kids (and does a very good job, I must say!), and he has been keeping me fed and the house cleaned, and he has also been working his nursing job at the hospital. When he isn't here, he has Rob Myerson, our neighbor, stay with me; he does NOT want me to be alone for ONE second! He treats me just like one of the children, and it drives! me!! INSANE!!! I am a grown woman; I can take care of myself!!
Roberto has all the Christmas shopping done, and right now he is busily decorating the house. Tomorrow he may go and get a tree, but I am afraid that the dog will use it for the bathroom. Seems every time we get something new, like furniture, appliances, or whatever, Roddy, our dog, has to "mark" it and pee on it! I hate the smell of dog pee, it's NASTY! And he shouldn't be doing that IN the house; he should be doing that OUTSIDE, in the YARD!! Sometimes I get so mad at him I try to hit him one with my stick, but of course, he acts like it is a big joke, and he laughs at me. Silly dog!! The kids are all excited; Jubaki can't wait until Santa Claus comes to see him, and the twins are still trying to figure out what all this "Christmas business" is all about. They look at the lights and decorations, and hear the pretty Christmas music, and I can see the wonder and magic in their sweet little faces; and it is just too precious to see!
Louie has been over; she brings me new books to read each and every week. She is busy with her own life, so she never stays long. I miss our talking sessions, and I miss her spending more time with me. It's like she is too busy to spend time with me anymore, and it aggrieves me. I hope she isn't thinking of ending our friendship; I have come to love Miss Louisiana like a sister, and she is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I see her on Thursdays, when she brings Ronee' over to spend the night, but Ronee' hasn't been by lately, and I am wondering if Ronee' is mad at me too! And I can't think of the last time I saw Johnny: it has been way too long since I last saw him, and I wonder if he is even still ALIVE! I hope nothing has happened to Johnny....
We had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving: it was just Roberto, the kids, Rob, and myself (and of course, our dog!). Louie had an army of people come to her house: all her family was there, and she had friends over too, and I heard it was crazy times for one and all! I wish I could have been there too, but too many people at one place makes me nervous; so I opted to just have a quiet Thanksgiving at home, which is exactly what we did.
The weather is finally cooling off: it was warm for a while (quite rainy too!), but the weather people are predicting snow by next week for here. I don't like cold weather: it hurts me, and I never can get warm once I get cold! I swear I must be part icicle or something! But Roberto, he loves the cold, and as far as I am concerned, HE can have it!!
Well, I will write more later; I am getting sleepy, and I need to rest my eyes. I hope you don't mind my boring writing, but I wanted to let you know that I am still alive and that I am now on my way to becoming a mama again...Until next time, Kwaheri!
Ah, Nature's Speed King, as you are to the cheetah - your style and grace that adorns your literary works has the same fluid motion as a cheetah does at full-speed!! Most excellent my friend!!
I agree with Karla it's great to hear from M"buti again
God Bless
Michelle~

This sounds like an real story about a woman with a group of children and expecting another baby. The part about the dog reminded me of my own little rascal.
