Dear Rebekkah Rachel~
Hi! Thank you for your email; and thank you for your prayers! I really appreciate them; I really do!! I liked the picture of the inside of Kendra and Louisa's church; it looks like a nice place to go! I will send you a picture of our church one day if you want! Our church is kinda' big, but it's a great church! I have lots of friends there, and I love the pastors there!
Yeah, I am sick. I have a horrible chest cold, and I have been hacking like sixty. My darn throat and chest hurt from coughing so much, and twice I managed to cough so hard I threw up. (I absolutely HATE to throw up!!) I have been in bed, and yesterday, maman took me to see my doctor, Dr. Emmons, and he gave me pills and a shot, and it seems to be helping a little. I don't feel as stuffy today, but I still have been coughing. I also have been wheezing, but then I always wheeze when I breathe; it's all part of the fun in having asthma and allergies; and it is getting to be way past annoying!! I hope I am over this crud by Christmas; and you are so right: there is nothing like being sick over Christmas! (Been there, done that, even have the t-shirt! But what is even worse is being in the hospital on Christmas. That is the BAH HUMBUG to end all Bah Humbugs!!)
That's scary about the meningitis outbreak. I pray you never get it. I have had it, and it is no fun! I had it at the age of six, and I was one very sick little girl, and it took a while before I felt like myself again! But my brother, Johnny, has had meningitis TWICE, according to maman. He had it as a baby, and again at the age of six; but when he had it the second time he wasn't nearly as sick as he was when he had it the first time. The first time he had it it really messed him up. That is why he can't hear without hearing aids in his ears, and that is why his eyes are so bad; and that is why he had so much trouble learning in school before he got the extra help; but I am happy to say that Johnny is doing much better in school now!
What are you doing for Christmas? We are going to stay here, but we are having company over; Kendra and her family are coming again for Christmas, and also Dwerlina, Steffi, and Melizza (and Dianna) are coming home for the holidays. Lightning can't come because Darnell has to work over Christmas, and there is no way he can get out of it. Tanya can't come either because she has to work as well. BAH the humbug (as I like to say!)!! :( Are you going to see Louisa Mason and her family? How is she doing? I have heard she had a rough time of it lately, but she felt better last week in order to go to church with Kendra! I hope and pray she feels better soon!
That is awful about the people attacking the nativity scene or putting racial slurs on the church. I don't understand people either sometimes...I have had kids tease me because of my health problems or my disabilities, but I have learned to ignore them and their comments, and I have learned that THEY are the ones who have the problem, NOT me. I used to cry or go running to my maman and daddy whenever kids teased me, but I have learned that they want to see me get all bent out of shape, and so they do it more; and so I have learned to just ignore them or go the other way. Still, at times it WASN'T easy, but now kids no longer bother me, and I am a lot happier now! I don't know why people hate the Jews so much; I wish they'd learn to accept them as I have accepted you, and I wish they'd learn to get along with the Jewish people! They are people too, just like I am; and there is nothing to fear about them! They are only people, for crying out loud!! I pray nobody says mean or nasty things about you or attack you or your church; that'd be too awful to think about!!
I have gotten some neat stuff for Christmas already: I got a really pretty "JESUS" pin that is all sparkly, a little stuffed pink flamingo that is waaaaaaaaay past aDORable, some money from my uncles and tantes in Louisiana and Texas, and another porcelain doll (another Inuk doll from my friend in Alaska, Sikik Eegeesiak), as well as some new gloves, scarf, and earmuffs. I don't know what else I will get, but I am expecting some stuff from Finland (my friend, Sari Gustaffssenn, has told maman that she sent us kids something from Finland!!), and from our friends in California (Kendra and her family). They said they mailed their package to us late last week, but we haven't gotten it as of yet. Maybe tomorrow it'll come; I sure hope so! I have a feeling that this Christmas is going to be extra special this year!! (Maybe I will be getting a new HUMMER?? Well, I don't know; but it IS nice to think about!! I would love to have a HUMMER, but I would have to wait til I am sixteen--four more years, *Sigh!*--in order to learn to drive it!)
Well, sweet Rebekkah, I will go now. I have to have my breathing treatment, and also take my afternoon dose of medications. (ICK. I feel the same way about pills and meds as you do about math!! NASTY!) I also have to rest some more; I am getting sleepy all of a sudden...I will write more later, if I am feeling better, and that is a PROMISE! Take care, and God bless!
