Dear Journal~
I am very sad today. I have been spending the past several days just bawlin' my eyes out, and I haven't been able to eat or sleep all that well. No, I am NOT flaring (I am well, for once; I have since gotten over my recent cold), but I am stressed out just the same.
On Johnny's birthday (December 26, the day after Christmas), there was a horrific earthquake that registered 9.0 on the earthquake scale (I don't know what they call those scales that tell how strong an earthquake is!), and it killed thousands and thousands of people in as much as 11 different countries. There were also people from other nations (including the United States of America) who were killed, as they happened to be in the area where the earthquake (and the tsunami, or a giant-sized wave, that followed) happened to hit. A lot of those killed happened to be children, and entire villages, towns, and cities were wiped out by the killer waves. I have been watching the news (something I really haven't done since September 11, 2001), but this story drew me in, and I couldn't help but be transfixed to the horrible images being displayed on the tv. What I saw was unbelievably tragic and horrible, and it is all I can do to keep from bursting into tears yet again.
I have been spending a lot of time in the Word and in prayer, and I have been sick with worry over the fate of those affected, and wondering if there is someone I know that was killed or injured in the tsunami/earthquake. Maman has been crying and praying too, and I have just found out that she and a team of doctors and nurses from her work are thinking of going to Sri Lanka to help out the victims there; and I am afraid that something horrible will happen to her while she is there; and I am sorry, but I can't handle that right now. My nerves are shot, and I can't seem to stop shaking or crying. My arthritis has been flaring up (NOT because I am sick, but because of the stress that this disaster has caused, and I am not even directly affected by it!), and I am so nervous my stomach is flopping like a dying fish, and I am terrified that a tsunami will hit here. I don't know what I would do if I were to be hit by a killer wave..I CAN swim, but against something like that, I'd have no chance whatsoever!
I will be making a donation to the Red Cross to help those in need, and I will be collecting money from my neighbors, as a way to help, and I will also be praying for my mommy and her coworkers, and hope that they have a safe trip whenever they go to Sri Lanka. Not only is mommy going: my doctor, Dr. Emmons, and so is my good friend, Roberto Sormiento; and I am scared that something might happen to them too. I don't know what I would do if something were to happen: I don't want to think about it, but they are going to a place full of danger, sickness, and disease, and I don't want anything to happen to them! I don't want to be left without a mommy! I love her too much!!
I am sorry, but I must go; I am crying too hard, and I can't see what I am writing for all the tears that are falling from my eyes! So bye for now!
~Luv, your (crying) friend, Ronee' Le-Anne, now aged 12. :( >tears<
